Default New 07 Z Silverstone :)

Hi everyone,

I just got my '07 Z in silverstone and base model last Monday. I chose the base model just in case if I decide to try drifting in the future and it's CHEAP. A friend who owns a '06 Z drove over the other day, and I noticed that my trip meter does not display tire pressure like the '06 does. The tire pressure monitor warning light is there, but not the individual tire pressure display. That's something that I will they didn't take out. Other than that, it's a great car to own. I have been looking at the Z since the 300 model. Finally I own one. I just hope my inexperience with manual shift won't hurt the transmission too much. Got a great deal on it too (28k otd). Oh yea, almost got a chance to race with a 07 g35 sedan. I wonder which one goes faster.

Default CORRECTION: carbonsilver

Oh yea, got confused by the dealers trying to convince me to buy a 06 instead. The '07 I got is a base Carbon Silver model.

My friend's '06 white base Z has tire pressure monitor. That would suck if the '07 base doesn't.

You bought a new Z without knowing it's color(no '07 SS) and haven't a clue if it's faster than a G35 sedan(who would mod a brand new G35 sedan?)???
Enjoy your dream car.

About half of the sales I talked early Jan to don't even know the new color carbon silver. So I simply tell them dark silver color or the '07's silverstone (as long as they understand).

I checked Nissan's Z online manual and website spec. It doesn't say if base model doesn't have tire pressure monitor. I will check my Z later today to see if it has the tire pressure warning light. The manual says the warning light will light for one second after ignition start.

One more thing they could have added would be the push ignition start button like the new Altima.

TPMS is standard on all trim levels for 07. They have eliminated the display in the trip computer of the individual pressures. I am assuming it is just an idiot light now.

Be interested to know why Nissan decided to do this. I hadn't heard of any widespread problems with the system, maybe a Nissan tech could chime in...

This is correct. In the owners manual, it does not show the individual tire pressure as an option for the trip computer display. Interesting....

Yeah I think they moved it reading to what the Gs have that just tells you if your pressue is low or not. From my understanding, Nissan did this because too many Z owners were complaining about the readings not being acurate.

Awesome so you've been drooling over Z's for a while and gone for gold. Congratz on your carbon copy, oops I mean carbon silver.

I don't think I would trust a tyre pressure monitor even if it had been an option on NZ Z's. I wonder what other differences US Z's will have to Antipidean Z's.

I think they all have the tire monitoring but it cannot be displayed anymore. It will only warn you if you are low.

Just in case I understand (since many people interpret OTD price), so was this the amount for the car + tax, title, etc.?!?!

Either way, you did very well IMO! How much pressure did the salesperson put you under? What kind of deal were they trying to give you on an '06?

Thanks a lot!
Seems you can get just a good a deal as private sellers and their old cars.
