I just got my car 3 days ago. I got a 2007 Daytona Blue Coupe. I am giving up a 2006 Mazda RX8 GT for this car and the engine, alone, justifies my trade-off. While I did enjoy the 8 and will miss it's well equiped cabin: the leather seats, sunroof, power/heated seats, 4 doors, and back seats, etc. they could not hide the "quirks" of a non-conventional Rotary engine. Albiet, the Renesis (engine on RX8) is a large imporvement over past RX models (i.e. FD, FC, & FB) it was not what I was looking for in a sports car.

With my 8 I went "mod-happy" and had a string of bad luck with my mods. With my new Z, I'm looking to lower it some, put in a more "positive" feeling short shifter, tint the windows and maybe drop-in some K&N filters...not much compared to what I did with the Mazda. I just want to keep it real simple--after all, it is a "Base" model. I would appreciate any info and or suggestions on the proper spring rates and drop heights that are optimal for the Z as well as your opinions on short shifters and other simple mods?

Congrats on the Trade-In!!! I'm in the Market too to do some light Mods to my 07' Z...Just waiting for the After Market Support. I'm working on getting an Exhaust right now..either a Nismo or Top Speed N1 Pro.

Congrats on the 07 DB Coupe, I just purchased my 04 DB Touring Roadster 2 weeks ago and I'm still feelin' dazed & confused...what a great car, I can hardly wait to start tinkerin' with the ZZZiper! First Mod will be to install a hard-wire adapter to my NEW 80gig iPod to the stock Bose system...my collection of ver 600 CDs at my finger tips in my Z with the top down...too cool! If you want a laugh, look at the thread I started yesterday in this section of the forum titled: "Not since the Opel have I...."

Would your warratee be voided if you installed the Top Speed N1 Pro. I'm new to the Nissan, but I read somewhere that only the NISMO exhaust, intalled at a Nissan dealership, will be warranted. Let me know.
