Default My First "Z"

I went shopping for a Toyota FJ Cruiser or 4 Runner......
And ended up with a New 2006 Base model/Red.
So much for something to pull my boat with.
So now the boat and older truck are for sale

The left over 2006 had 100 miles on it.
Once I negotiated the price over the phone ......I had to have it
MSRP: $29,135
Cost: $24,000

The dealer was discounting all 2006 models by $5,000+

After driving it I knew I had to have it.
Price definitely played a role.

Since I had read that some 2006 MT are having oil consumption problems I've got info on the BBB Autoline, my State lemon laws, and trying to be prepared if I find I also have a problem.
Time will tell.
And if I do, I feel confident it will get worked out without having to go to extreme measures but will be prepared if needed.

I've noticed many abide by Nissans break-in period (1200 miles under 4k rpm).
I am not.
Through all of my cars, bikes & boats I have always been aggressive during break-in periods.

For example with my New 2006 350Z with each 50 miles that go by I become more aggressive till I've reached 500 miles, then I'm done breaking it in.
Change the oil at this time (500 miles) and then also at 2,000 miles, then starting my every 3k afterwards.

Not sure how people on this list feel about it, but it doesn't matter, to late, the process has begun

I absolutely love the car and it's handling.
Last sports car I had was a 1994 Supra TwinTurbo.

Later, Looking forward to learning & sharing stuff with this Forum.

Your choice was bold. Now tell me, isnt it better to drive a Z than to haul along a damn boat 24/7 ?

I kept my boat, but after getting the Z, I haven't had time to use it. Driving has been way to much fun. Congratulations!

Default Yep....Very Happy with my "Z"

My Boat & truck are now for sale
I'll definitely be spending more time in the Z than I would in the boat
I still love to water ski but will be doing it behind friends boats.
Currently have no plans for upgrades to the Z until its paid for.
Though I think I might need a radar detector ...... way to easy to speed on the open roads.
Looking at getting a Valentine 1.
Any other detectors better ??

Thanks
