New to MY350Z
i have a 2006 350Z Enthusiast. I got it in July of 06 and it is the 1st MT car i have ever had. i have a couple of "rookie" questions to ask b/c i am a rookie when it comes to cars. i hope you answer them instead of bashing me.
1. Is shifting from 1-2 a little jerky/doesn't exactly feel smooth some times?
2. When i am in 1st gear up the levels of the parking garage at my school and i put in the clutch to turn in and park, i hear a "clank" noise or something. Not exactly sure how to describe it, but just wondering if any1 else has heard something like that...

in the thread it says if it makes the noise when you r putting the clutch IN then its bad. it makes the noise when i am putting the clutch in to stop and park...bad?

do u guys think im talking about this "rattling" noise when the clutch isn't all the way in? I am talking about when i am in 1st gear, with foot off clutch completely, driving like up a parking garage. I hear a "clank" or something when i put the clutch in all the way to park. i don't hear a "rattling" when i have the clutch in and im stopped.
I have the same problem with my 350z..
Its a strange clattering noice when Im lifting my foot of the clutch. For example when Im waiting for a redlight to turn green, and then when I drive away, this clatter-noice appears very clear...
The noice also appears when I push the clutch down...
Does anyone have any idea of whats causing this noice and what to do to fix it?

Follow the DAFT nooby rules
-Don't act or talk like an irresponsible teenager with a new high-powered car. (You've had the car for about a year so you have passed)
-Always at least try the "search" feature for your question first.
-Fake being humble as a nooby even if you aren't. (you seem fine)
-Treat English like it's your 1st language so people don't have to work to understand you (if it's your 2nd language, doing the best you can is just fine.)

Mabye this is it...
Found it in another forum... so I just copy/pasted...
Here it is;
i currently have this problem on my enthu '03. The squeaking sound is the release bearing (throw-out bearing) inside your clutch. It is a round piece of medal probably a little wider than a half dollar. It slides down threw the middle of your clutch and for some reason the bearings in this part seem to dry up depending on the weather condition. Most mechanical shops wont touch the part (its only 39.99) unless you want to replace your entire clutch kit. It is the same labor involved to replace the part as it is to swap the whole thing. What i did to temporarly eliminate the squeak is pull the master cylinder boot back from the transmission while the car is in the air. Take some lube (WD40, Clutch lube) and while the clutch in pushed (someone in the car) take the tube/nossle and squirt it up in there. Pump the clutch a few times untill it goes away. It will work for a few weeks or a couple months. Its like sticking a band aid on it, but if your going to replace it, the damn thing better be broke... right? )
The dealer will grease the bushings for you (same thing as DW40 style) if you bring it in under warranty. Eitehr that, or they will swap the clutch mechanism out from inside the car. Hope this helps, take care.
and another one says;
03 touring, got it too, brought it to dealer, they fixed it for free : )
apparently the spring need to be oiled or something like that, so yeah its no biggie, its just so annoying
Cheers / R

alright....i just got back from driving and it seems like this noise happens some times when i am at a low speed and rpm in 1st or 2nd and i put in the clutch. the only way i know how to describe it is a "clank" sound. it has something to do with the clutch clanking on something when i push it in.
any1 have any ideas now?
