Phhewww....Finally....
Hey All,
It was around same time last year that the thought of buying a Z came to my mind. Today, I finally have the keys for a 2005 Track. (Since April 2006, I've been lurking on this site, drooling at the pics of other's Zs!)
It has 18,000 miles on it and is manual.
Will post the pics shortly.
The worst part of the wait was the last few weeks - the seller dropped off the car at my place; took the tags with them and I was waiting on the finance thing to go thru. The Z was sittin in the garage; but I cudn't drive! Was like - so close, yet so far!
Drove quite a bit in the evening. Guess I need to fine tune my manual skills - also, inclined surfaces/slopes are kinda leaving me paranoid - need to work on it!
Thanks everyone for all your replies/suggestions/advice. You guys are awesome.

Dropping off their car in your garage, with no plates and giving you a set of keys? If the financing doesn't go through, that would be cruel and unusual punishment. Let us know how it goes and post some picks when it is yours to drive.
At least you have time to go over the manual with a fine tooth comb and learn all the nuances before you get lost in driving it.

It was the longest wait of my life. The car was sitting in the garage for almost 20 days! The only reason why I didn't post a message 'I got the car' was I was waiting for everything (finance/registration etc etc) to fall in place (and also, didn't wanted to get taunted by u guys' comment - 'the car is not urs till u have the keys'
). Thankfully, everything worked out. The seller was very cooperative (there were soo many random thots in my head about what cud go wrong - or - if there were any traps I cud fall into..coz we both had decided to pitch in and make the payoff - I was like - what if I contrinute my share and then the seller refuses to pay his!..and such.) But yeah, like I said, everything worked out and I got my temporary registration done on Friday, just in time for the long weekend!(PS: I learned quite a lot about dealing with private parties/financing - so in case anyone has any questions, feel free to pm me.)
Here's one little snapshot, will post more pics later.
Thanks!

Nice ending to a potentially sad story. I'm sure there are a lot of us happy for you. Now make up for the worry by sanely driving the car an insane amount.
Congratulations and thanks for the pic. What is the tint on those windows?

Honestly, I don't know what the tint is - but I am afraid, it'll have to go when I go to get the MD inspection done.
I was looking at the MD inspection check list and window tint is in the list...
