Default Need some info on Base vs other tims levels

Hi, this isnt my first time to this site, i've just been in hiding.

my dad is looking to get a Z and doesnt want to spend too much cause he doesnt care for the bells and whistles of the higher trim levels....

he just would like to have a Base model with CC. im under the impression that the base doesnt come with CC.

is it possible to order a base with CC?

we havent been to the dealer yet since he lives in puerto rico right now and a new base z over there is around 35-50k. Evos are $50k, STI $50k, H2 $80k, RX-8 $30-40K

he's moving here in texas in the fall sometime and thats when he's looking to buy a Z

his previous cars were a 1972 Mazda RX-2, 1971 Mazda R100, KP61 Toyota Starlet, 1984 Mazda RX-7(current car since 1992), 1978 Yamaha RD400(current), and a 1985 Yamaha RZ350(current). so this would be a real step-up from him since hes sick and tired of fixing leaks and broken parts and whatnot and wants a car with a warranty thats sporty and looks good and has a good price. and im sick of calling me to look for parts cause everything is expensive over there... but would pay the same amount if i were to get it for him and ship it im just annoyed just by that

You cannot get the Base in Cruise and I have yet in my 3+ years here seen one converted!

If you plan on upgrading things like LSD, wheels, navigation, audio brakes, for better options, and care nothing about cruise control, electronics stability and traction control, leather or heated seats you will be fine with base. Anything else can be added.

Again, if you care about any of these things you won't be happy at all:

cruise control
electronic stability and traction aids
factory leather
Steering wheel audio controls
heated seats

I ended up choosing a base because of the fact that paying the extra 2 grand for the enthusiast and the 4 grand for the touring to be pretty extreneous and pointless due to the fact that as long as you know how to drive and know how to truly control the car you wont find the TCS necessary. As for the LSD, it can always be installed for cheap from an enthusiast owner who has upgraded the LSD. If you are looking for leather seats its a $4000 upgrade as I said earlier and I honestly found the cloth seats more comfortable (not to mention I wont have to test out how hot the seats are before I sit down ). The wheels for the 07 models are now all the same up to the touring model I believe.

CC cannot be added to Base.
