Question Newbie's first few question

Just used Nissan website to build the car...

- Side Air Bags & Head Curtains $569
- DVD Navigation System $1999
- Floor Mats $79
- Splash Guards $129
- Aluminum Kick Plates $89
- Trunk Mat $69
- Cargo Convenience Package $79

Base MSRP $34,079.00
Total Packages, Options, & Accessories $3,013.00
Destination & Handling $540.00
Total Designed MSRP† $37,632.00

Am I really going to pay that amount? How much lower I can get?
2nd, how do you think about Nissan's DVD Navigation? Is it quick?
3rd, do you think that Splash Guards necessary? Will it make the car looks better?
4th, is it really necessary to buy the mats? shouldn't I get for free?

Sorry for asking so many question at the same time!
Any response would be greatly appreciated!

Which model did you configure? Performance, Touring?

- Side Air Bags & Head Curtains $569
Do you plan on adding after market seats (Sparco's, Bride's)?

Can't comment on Nav- don't have it.
I think every car company charges for floormats now (who knows why?). However I would recommend them.

Kick plates look cool.

I chose not to get splash guards but their only $129.

I think the major things are the Nav and what car you started with. Look at the options between the trims and think about any mods you plan to add down the road- are you going to replace the rims? The brakes? Do you want leather? Do you want VDC?

That's got to be a track. Look at the base MSRP. It is high.

Generally, MSRP is the "standard" deal & what most of us have paid. Some folks have gotten 1-2Gs knocked off.

If your concerned about bucks drop down to the Perfor. or Touring model. All madels have same engine & drive train.

I'd get splash guards but individual call. Most dealers probably have them installed.

yeah thats gotta be the track, keep a few things in mind when you choose track, your paying a ~3000$ premium for rims and brakes. certainly a good deal, but not if its not what you want.

namely the rims, their 8" wide, 245 series tires on back, 225 on front. are you happy with that size? Im glad now that I had touring so I could replace my rims and get 275 on the back with 9.5" rims.

as for brakes, brembos are very good, but there is stoptech and other brembo models for about 3000$.

just some things to consider whether youll be keeping the stuff or upgrading. if I went at it again, I would go enthusiast and get aftermarket leather, or racing seats. upgrade tires and brakes.

as for nav, I dont think its worth 2000 except for the ease of it. car computers are becoming somewhat normal now, I built mine for 1500, with nav, but it does soo much more for 500$ less. but its not as neat and easy as factory nav.

Thanks for all your help!

Do any of you have pictures of Splash Guards installed and not installed?

I really want to keep the car's LOOK! That's why I want to buy this car. So...I want leather seats and nav. for sure.

If I want to mod the car, I think I will only go with some bigger mods like supercharge, exhaust...etc. I really don't like to mess up with the looks of the car. This car is just PERFECT to me on the looks.

I'm a "the designers-got-it-right; don't- screw-with- perfection" guy myself but the splash gards look just fine.
