New to site...Car pics with some Q's...
So I picked up an 04 track. Pretty much stock except for an air-intake. A couple things I've noticed...
-Z's have a frickin cool / wierd exhaust. Sometimes I avoid shifting just so I can hear it. Stock is almost perfect.
-Ground clearance sucks with lowered springs. I got trapped in my friend's driveway. I can get in it but it takes a lot of 2x4's under the wheels to get out. ha.
-I was getting gas and the guy next to me said, "Hey, nice porsche." Huh?
-Black SUCKS to keep clean, the california car duster is your best friend.
-Everybody stares no matter who they are or how old they are.
-Roadholding ability with 275/19's is unreal!
-VDC is a very good thing to have.
-The stock non-bose system has the same sound quality as a playschool tape player.
Questions...
Only in my garage is when i hear it but I can hear the throwout bearing ever so slightly when I let the clutch out. You can't hear it outside but in the garage I can hear it if I listen closely. Is it going out or is that normal to hear it just a little bit?
How tough in general is the car? I took it on some winding roads and pushed it quite hard for a while. These cars are made for it I'm sure but aside from tires, what damage could I be doing (bearings, bushings shocks etc)? My car is perfect but I always feel just a bit like maybe I am abusing it. Someone set me straight.
Call it nice car paranoia...It's sort of like a brand new baby to me.

I agree with all your observations. Congratulations! I'd defer comment on the throwout bearing noise to someone with an '04. Besides, I've trained my ears not to hear high frequency noises(like wives and kids voices)
My personal impression of how tough the cars are is VERY, if you don't collide with anything. Then it bends up to save you. I've not read anything on this forum that differs with this opinion. Of course I'm referring to hard driving, not someone that is hard on the clutch, brakes, and transmission. Abuse is different than hard driving.
