Straight up, this was my week. Ordered the car last week, I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, car was coming from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Reason I wanted the one over a thousand miles away was because of what was included. Manager of the dealership knew I was looking for one, and originally I was going to order a Daytona Blue GT Coupe, MT. My apologies for those who love them, but I saw a roadster in DB, and didn't like it. I'm in a city of about 600,000 people and I've seen Burnt Orange, Carbon, Red, Black, and all 2006 or earlier, never have a seen a 2007 Airstream, which is the name for the almost white silver up here. Anyways, ordered it last thursday. Manager calls me friday of last week to tell me it will probably be here tuesday, latest wednesday. Can't sleep tuesday night. No car wednesday. No car thursday, but he finds out it is halfway here and will be in later thursday evening, so I will get it friday.
I guess in Hamilton, the dealership does a lot more aftermarket work, so the car I am getting comes with (under factory warranty none the less) Fast Intentions Intimdator exhaust, Stillen dual intakes, Greddy heat sheild, KW Variant 2 coilovers, lowered about 1 inch, and Hotchkis sport swaybars. All of these didn't cost me much more than the price of the GT Coupe loaded with no GPS (got it in my phone already).
Drive there around 3 this afternoon, to find out that my co-signer (good old mom, ex wife hit the credit rating hard!) needed to sign some paper before I could get the car. Need the bill of sale to get plates. Problem is that they never told me this yesterday, and that Mom lives 2 hours away in Brandon.
Manager offers to open the dealership late since I am adamant that I want my car tonight. I drive to Brandon, get the papers signed, get my plates, drive back two hours, get back at around 10PM, call the Sales Manager, load up my 2003 Aztek with my Fiance, and 3 kids, and the journey finally comes to an end.
Holy Crap!!! Can't believe how beautiful this car is. This afternoon when I was waiting to get the papers I needed signed, a couple was in the dealership and the wife sat in the passenger side. The husband looked at me and asked if it was mine. I nodded my head yes. He then congratulated me. Then his wife did. Like I had won something. I told him that for a while I was looking at a new vette, but saw a 350Z and fell in love. He says "These are so much better looking than a vette, and there are a lot fewer of them here."
He is right.
I'm tired, but have spent the last few hours sitting in it as I read the manual, smell the leather, and program the bluetooth, etc. Damn these are such fine cars. And of course on the way home from the dealership I had to blast around a few corners. Great sound coming from the exhaust, gobs of power, and no body roll as you rip around a curve. Can't wait till tomorrow.
What a car.
Only thing I want to add right away will be the Strosek Wing, if I can find where to buy one.
Here are the pics, notice how late it is outside.
Many thanks to Nick and Steve at Crown Nissan in Winnipeg. Great customer service. Guys stayed to the end to get me my car. Any Winnipeg readers, you can't go wrong dealing with these guys. Tell them Alan sent you!!

What a beauty. That's a great grin on your face as well!!
Congrats and welcome to My350z!
When you get the wing, post up some pics.
I want that wing so bad, but it's a small fortune!!!

One of the better 'new member' threads I've ever read. That dealer that opened up the place at 10 pm deserves a bottle of his favorite and many recommendations.
With your climate conditions, a roadster would really have to be loved. You made some awesome choices. A big Welcome, and leave some money for winter tires. They can be squirrelly when it's slippery.

Just came in from some night driving and wanted to know a couple of things. Do the climate controls light up beside the setting light? I mean the 3 ***** below the radio? There is one orange light on each, but they aren't back lit.
Also, do the steering wheel controls for stereo and cruise light up? They aren't back lit either. Minor problems I have found, down volume and previous track controls on steering wheel have to be pushed in and down to work. Map light on drivers side will turn on one light, both, or none, sometimes.
One mod that was done was some heavy duty grounding that is supposed to increase torque? Guys couldn't explain why, since it was done at another dealership. Professionaly done, just would like to know why it effects torque.

Ok, the light thing was my own stupidity. Lights come on automatically, but when I "turn" them on, then the rest of the car lights up inside. Dumb of me to not have thought of that!!
Those grounding wires are said to do lots of things but I find it hard to believe they do much at all. That said, congratulations on the GT Z! I cant believe the dealer installed so many mods right off the bat, but thats a good way to do it since everything is in one payment.

Those are the stock wheels on the GT. Everyone I have shown my car to has commented on the wheels. When I take them for a ride though, the comment on how the car rides on rails. I couldn't be happier, and the looks this car gets is great.

Well I admit that they look good. This car, pure and simply, is a very sexy looking car. You look from the back down one of the rear quarter panels. The curve is sexy and it defines the look on the road.
Honestly, I was looking at vettes. But I saw so many of them on the road. Same with mustangs. Had two of them, an 83 gt 5mt, and an 88 cobra 5mt. Power, torque, but not as refined inside, rode higher, more of a Tarantula than a Black Widow. Z being the latter.
The car embraces you. My daughter commented on how she isn't used to us being looked at that much. She loves it! My fiance was as pumped as I was. She brags about it at work.
I pulled up to my best friends house the other night, and she is sitting on the step. I pull up, put on the hand brake, put it in neutral, and open up the door to say hello. Now she has always been a Beemer lover. Z3, 645i, etc. Well I had told her at the lake this last weekend that she may be wanting to cheat to Nissan when she sees my car. The looks at me like I'm crazy and laughs. Well when I got out, I could hear her laughing. I walk over and she is going "oh my god." over and over. She jumps in and we go for a quick rip, around an overpass, no body roll, and she is laughing and clapping her hands. Loving it. Touching the leather, turning up the stereo, and marveling in the design.
That is what I paid a ton of money for. I won't lie.
My lawyer, has a 2007 645i, with the big panarama roof, tons of power, black. Well saturday morning I drive over to his house, we're friends, and go to his door and he is opening it as I get ready to knock.
"I thought that was you when I saw some good looking car pull up" he said since he knew I was getting it friday. He walks down his steps and gets a better look and goes "Oh my goodness. Let me get my shoes." He walks around it, pointing things out to me, gazing at it with lust in his eyes.
"OK. Lets go for a ride then shall we." he says as he climbs in, and for the whole ride, he is appreciating the interior design, the bluetooth phone and the clarity of it for the person on the other end. The ability to open up my garage door for me. The mirror that tints when there are headlights behind you.
He was happy for me, because he agreed with my choice. If he didn't, he would have said so.
What a rush for me, because I knew that it just couldn't be me thinking that my car is one of the best looking driving on the streets. May be just my opinion, but it is nice to feel that way.
That is what I paid a lot of money for.
I really enjoy this car. Blasting around a clover leaf, controlled, but knowing that this car could do more than I would be willing to do. That is a nice feeling.
That is what I paid a lot of money for.
I don't regret it one bit.

^^^ That, right there, is poetry!! Would sell a million more Z's!!
Enjoy her, just be careful, her back end can get away from you...play it safe...find a nice track to open her up on.
I'm glad the Zenvy is present in others...the 350Z (all the Z's) is a real celebrity!!

By the way, Shezzzhot. As for the wing, as much as I like it, I'm thinking that my car doesn't need it. Seems more refined to me with the little spoiler on the back. I may change my mind, but right now I can't say I would change much about the look. The performance stuff that I would have done is already done. Twin Turbos, while fantastic, also are hard on the car. This cars miles will be on the aftermarket stuff from the beginning. The rumble of the Fast Intentions exhaust is another thing people love. Great rumble. Stillen intakes let it breath better, the heat sheild keeps the cold air going through the radiator. Sway bars keep it so nice and tight through a corner, and the coilovers have it a little lower than stock but not dangerous.
I don't want to catch my nose on a speed bump by accident. Or drop the clutch at 7000 rpm. Has to be hard on the car. I'm not someone who can afford to not appreciate my vehicle, and from past knowledge, once they get too beat up, they aren't worth keeping up.
Like this car too much to do that type of thing. Going to pass on the winter driving completely. Would hate to slide into a curb, or another car. Keep it safe in my garage, start it up and run it once in a while to keep it in shape. Look forward to spring.
Shezzzhot, thanks for the kind words.

Sounds like a great plan. Plus, with all the goodies you have, all you have to do is crank it up and enjoy!!
You are very welcome. It's nice to see someone so jazzed about their Z!! It's what being an enthusiast is all about.
We need an international meeting spot...a place, like Z Island, where we all can drive around and meet!! Ahhhh, a dream.

That would be cool. I appreciate others cars on here as well, think you have some great shots of your car. If there is ever a meet withing reason distance wise, I'd be up for it.
I drop tons of money into modifying remote control cars, planes, and helicopters. If I started doing that on my car, I would be spending more than paris hilton in a shoe store.
