Thumbs up Installed my NISMO CAI R-tune setup/ Vs K&N I had. PHOTOS!! UP

Well, After a 5 hour install. She is all done now!!

This is my First real Mod to the Z, I have had other cars that I mod out I had Altima 06 SER that I did some thing's too and NISMO brand has always been good to me.

I have 2006 350z 6MT, only thing I had going was K&N drop in setup.

I had the K&N in my car for a little over 2 weeks I say, I remember when I first installed it I was like for $50 filter and more CFM I was not really able to see any real top gain. I was like well this is not going to work. I know there are people out there who tell you that CAI for Z is not! Significance in power.

Well After the install” I wanted to take her out for some test runs. I have not reset my ECU as of yet to lean the new AIR coming into the Eng. But I will tonight. So when I first stated the car you can hear this nice low end sound coming from the Eng now. The whole car feels better smoother faster.

I'm not just saying this or it's just in my mind, I really could feel a diffracts, I took her out on Interstate near my home. I hit 5K RPMs in 2_gear and up to 3rd gear 6700 rpm. I was like wow, after 4K mark” the car just comes alive" I mean you can feel the Power!! The whole car pulls hard and all you here is this nice *** low end nasty!!GET OUT OF MY WAY!! Sound coming from the Eng.

I was like wow, I mean you can really feel it. Again I know there are people out their who think you lose your low-end and HP but I could not feel it. She pulling harder and top end is there as well as my low-end.

The NISMO CAI -R tune I will post photos later today of my Eng setup also sound clips as well. I also made sure I order the NISMO Ver 2 of the CAI for 350z. The older CAI for Z for what I understand had the older NISMO logo on it and has the older K&N Filter on her.

And after installing an intake, is it necessary to reset the ecu?

Hey guys,

Sorry about the photos, I work Downtown Wash D.C and by the time I get home it's dark out.

So I have not been able to take some nice photos.

I will tomorrow being I'm off all weekend.

I should have photos up by tomorrow night.

I can see the difference in angle from what I have. Is that lighter gray part the top of the filter?

Yeah it's gray,

No it's just flash from cam, makes it look white.

THat is bypass, for water. If the Filter gets water in it, the Air will be sucked from Bypass and not the Filter.

I am pretty sure I have the same Nismo CAI. If it is the same, then that little grey part is actually only about 65% down the total tube length. It is a really flimsy material -- somewhat like the cover of a microphone.

The tube should continue all the way down to the wheel well where the filter is. You have to take off the underside (like you do for an oil change) then take off the wheel well cover to get to the actual filter. Luckily, you should only need to do this 2 times per year, for a recharge.
