^^ good luck with that man, ill tell you one thing tho, take care of her and dont beat it up because if you do you will run into loads of problems like i did. eg. clutches, trannys, and even the transfer case. none the less a great car and hope to get another IX soon as a track car cuz thats what its meant for and thats where it shows its true colors.

Really? Stock vs stock, veetec ran 13.2 at 107 mph, that is faster than the EVO.

Good God, what were you doing to it? I tracked mine a lot and I run auto-x all the time and haven't had one isseu other than a bad launch that roasted my stock clutch. I beat the **** out of mine daily... she loves it.

How you liking the Z?

Jesus Christ, no it's not.

The best I've seen a stock Evo IX trap is 107. If you'd read what I already posted, you'd know this. Also, the Evo IX is quicker, having run 12.8's stock, with some crazy bastard in Japan running a 12.6 (was on BMI). Don't know where you're getting your info at...

12.8 out of a stock 4 door/cylinder...how awesome is that? I sometimes wish I would have traded the Z in for an Evo instead of my STi (still like my Suby more than my Z though).

12.8 due to awd and a hard launch, but what is the trap?

Mostly 106's, with a few (a FEW, not a lot) 107's.

It doesn't atter what the 12.8 trapped anyways... I already posted that stock IX's have trapped 107. Matter of fact, it's in the post you quoted.

My highest stock trap was a 104, but I sucked at driving my Evo when it was stock. If I could get another stock one on the track, I can prolly hit a high 106, MAYBE break a 107.

Also, I do believe the HR's will trap higher than the Evo IX. But since it hasn't been done yet, it isn't faster. It's just as fast.

Sorry but I disagree with evo falling apart. My evo has 34k miles and not a single problem and trust me I drive the hell out of it everyday since it's my DD. If you don't take care of any FI car it will fall apart

Fixed.

Speaking of this, it's time for tranny/xfer/diff fluid change when I get back from deployment.

Wow I'm glad you know how I took care of my car. The evo is reliable if you keep it close to stock, mine wasn't. I'd love to have one as a track car but as a daily no. I've always been a mitsu guy but I am done with them as a whole.

Whatever you say.

What mods did you have to make it unreliable? I know I've been modded since I had less than 2k on the clock (sitting at 336awhp/322awtq, which now should be a good deal more, and when I get back from deployment it's gonna be even crazier) and I'm at 26k right now with nothing but hard driving, auto-x, mountain runs, plenty of 1/4 runs and MANY street races (not including the drives to/from work and all the other random places I go, almost always at full boost).

Like I said, ONLY issue I had was me doing a bad launch and roasting my stock clutch (which isn't even the car's fault).

Tony (prolly has somewhere around 200 launches on the car)

Well I do know the EVO clutches are weak and that is a common problem. So I do believe it was your launch that killed it.

I KNOW it was the launch... it was about a week after I got my (garbage) Dynoflash tune. I was showing a friend a few 6k launches. Everything was going well until one launch that I slipped just a little too long... clutch roasted on that one, and was done from that point. I got at least a good 50 or so launches on the stocker, with ~15 at my posted dyno numbers.

I had to drive it on the roasted clutch for like 1000 or so miles too... that sucked.

My ACT HDSS=awesome. After I'm done with this one I'm stepping up to an Exedy twin or whenever ACT decides to launch their twin, I'll go with that. I'm a big fan of ACT.

I've driven both, an 07 350z and the Evo IX. I didn't track any of them, but I drove both about 40-50 miles. From what I was able to tell, the EVO did feel faster. But when it came down to it, I would much rather have a little less speed, and ALOT more comfort/overall good looks of the Z.

I ended up not buying either though... got me a G instead
