I see 350Zs on the lots, in the papers and on the streets daily some people say thats a bad thing I like seeing people that like a nice sporting looking sports car, bc I damn sure do.

Not that the STi and Evo are not good fast cars they just take a while getting use to looking at them standing still, but they run like a striped ape!!

I'd love a STi or Evo if I lived in Colorada or Wyoming, but in the sun its the 350Z, 330ci or C5.
There are plent of sti's and evo's in colorado. There are far more evo's than sti's though. Simply because the sti keeps its value much more than the evo(here in colorado). I looked into buying a sti in state and couldnt find anything under 22k. Evo's on the other hand can be had fairly cheap I've seen on them go for 16.5K at a dealership.

Evo IX comes with 286 to the crank. So the Z starts with more horsepower.

EVO loses top end power due to AWD anyways, the Z would take the cake highway pulls without a doubt even modded to a point.

Not true at all.

We lose torque up top due to the nature of the factory turbo. We lose no power at all (if I can ever find my dyno sheet from '06, I can show you how it keeps climbing until ~7250rpms).

The problem we have from a roll is our 5th gear (in the GSR and RS). Click the vid in my sig to hear what I'm talking about (that vid will also disprove your Z winning on the highway theory). The rpms drop way off since it's the overdrive gear, and it kills our >120mph speeds. With a larger turbo (even a modded stocker) that is a non-issue as there's more top end power to counter act that.

And modded? No way in hell.

I said to a point modded. Meaning light mods.

It really depends on what you consider "light" mods. Just a TBE and a tune can put an Evo IX over 300awhp/awtq.

If you're talking about the clowns that put an intake, cat-back and BOV with no tune then not only would you win, but I'd be cheering for your team as well.

God that **** burns my soul. And the sad thing is, those are they guys that THINK and ACT like they're fast, but would get mollywhopped by someone like me at auto-x, the strip, the mountains, or the streets.

at least there is no trash talking on each car. you cant really talk trash about two very nice cars though. i guess now were just talking trash on the fanboys that have no understanding about cars.

Welcome! I like the power of the EVO, but I wish it were in a different car. I just can't bring myself to get a 4 door.

I think you made a good choice!

im a huge fan of evo's. I was actually inteded to buy an evo9 instead of my new Z. But I knew the modding bug would own me and I just simply didnt want to go down that path again. I needed something that would stay reliable and would not break. And the Z being N/A kinda makes it stay that way lol...if I had the money to make an Evo fast, id have one of those too!

i wish i could keep my sti as well. all we have to do now is win the lottery. but i guess if i won the lottery i would get a GT-R and own the road. Well if im going to be a millionare might as well have the sti as a trackcar, a 350z dragster haha and a dd GT-R.

I almost purchased a Nismo Z but decided to keep my Evo 9 MR. I've raced several Z or Nismo Z and never had any problems pulling them at topend.
