Default 05 rsx-s to 04 350z enthusiast

got a deal on the z that i couldn't turn down! my fiance and i both got "new" cars, so i thought i would share. she got the 03 6mt accord coupe..it drives soooo smooth. and i got the z but i have to say that i do miss my rsx though...8000rpm never got old!! from what i can tell the previous owner of my z did a few mods. it has led tail lights, red calipers, removed cats (which i will be putting back to stock asap!!), and an safc2..whatever that does... (its was a spontaneous buy, so i haven't done much research on the z yet) anyways, here they are. the old and the new. enjoy!!

ps. i am going to put it back to stock, but if anyone knows any of the settings the safc2 should be on to run safely in the meantime, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Congrats. It's hard to believe an owner of an rsx bought a 350z.

Welcome to the family. Those brakes have to go though.
Otherwise I'm just subscribing for the drama that is about to ensue.
Cue the RSX boys.

Congrats on the huge upgrade. What are the mods plans other than putting back the stock cats?

Saw the thread title, and knew it'd be a haven for the RSX jokes. Anyways, congrats.

Welcome and congratulations.

You can get a heads-up on the safc2 in the tuning forum.

congrats on the purchase, you won't regret it. I had the exact same color RSX and now have the same color Z as you do lol. Enjoy the car and start modding.

thanks guys, and other than putting it back to stock i have no huge mod plans, though im sure that will change shortly. im still trying to get over how expensive all the performance parts are for these things..i had a cai, race header, and cat back exhaust on the rsx for less than just about any one thing for a z! eh, welcome to the world of big boys toys and expensive modding i guess

Great buy, good to have you with us...i sure would like to hear your first impressions comapred to the RSX. I worked for Acura for a while and reving that engine was fun as hell...quick cars.

I had an rsx type s before the z and it was a good car, but nothing compaired to the z. Only thing i miss is the back seat and a trunk that can hold more than just my backpack. Oh and a transmission that didn't give you carpal tunnel =)

well like he said, i def miss the space and the smooth tranny. but then again i dont have the 3rd gear grind issue anymore that so many rsx's were plagued with..as far as comfort and quality of materials i would have to give the nod to the acura as well.

now the driving experience is a different story. rwd>fwd-enough said...
the torque difference is HUUUGE!! drive-a-bility...i love being able to pass traffic and not have to leave 6th gear

the exhast note on the z is amazing, and was half the reason that i had to have the car lol i had the rsx lowered on tein springs, and still, as far as handling is concerned, it is no comparison-handling goes to the z.

finally, as far as speed goes, as i stated before i miss being able to rev past 8 grand and surprisingly, with the intake, header, exhaust setup in the rsx, it felt just about as fast-minus the torque. the one time i took it to the track, i ran a 14.2 on my stock tires. as a matter of fact, i raced my boss' 05 z when i was in the rsx, and he beat me by 1 car from a stop consitently. From a second gear roll we were even.

Over all, i am very happy with my decision. The rsx was VERY fun, but the z is a much "true-er" sports car..

one more thing-my fiance is getting pissed because of all of the looks im getting from girls in this thing! haha
