Default which Z do i get?

after track racing my gsxr and getting taking out by a lowsider i realized im to old to be out here endangering my life with these club racers. so i have basically been a road racer and in love with motorcycles but after you track race enough daily driving is just boring. so long story short, its time to give up the bike and hop on 4 wheels. when i first saw the 350Z i thought it was the best looking car you can get under 100K. then when i looked at afew of the modified Zs on here and the ones in formula D it became the car i had to have. so my question is what year and model do i get? it wont be my daily but i will drive it alot, and most likely track it and im pretty sure i will get into drifting. it wont stay stock to long but i need a good starting point to get a feel for the car. so what years have the HR motor and what models have the best LSD to start off with? or if the HR motor isnt really that important when i will mod the engine anyway what older models do you guys think is best between 03 to 06?

I'd say the good starts getting really good in 2005, it seem to have less problems on up to 2007-08. Of course the 2007-08 has the 306hp engine compared to the others that have the 287hp engine, both are very smooth and powerful of course the 306 version seems to post the best verifiable track slips, even though there are some reports of 03-04 out street racing the 07.

Modified I've seen some crazy 1/4 runs and 0-60 speeds almost like a topped out Vette or Porsche!

My Redline 05 is stock I don't street race it nor do I drive it through he winter time, its just a Summer time personal party Toy. Wouldn't mind doing some track stuff.

The GTR is Great, but $60-$70K worth of great I'm gonna have to catch it after year 1 or two. Unless I get some large raises at my Job.

if you gonna mod it heavily, just go for an 03 with low miles.
No warranty to worry about voiding.
cheaper price.
only tire feather/transmision problems (recalled)

If he's modding as he said, then the stock clutch is going anyway. Besides, the clutch problem can be fixed if it hasn't been already. I had mine replaced in my 07 at 5k miles and haven't had a problem since and I'm at about 17k.

you would say get the quaife over the nismo lsd. i have heard with both those lsd's you dont have to mod the rear for it to fit.
