Default Maybe buying a new Z tonight

I'm gonna swing by a dealership that has the exact Z I want, Carbon Silver with Frost leather, touring, 6spd.

Currently I drive a 2005 Altima SE-R 6spd that I'm going to trade in. I still owe about 11.5k on it and I'm hoping to get a little over 14k for it.

Any tips on getting the deal done? I'm gonna take advantage of the 2.9% APR they are offering and I see people are getting their Zs for invoice or just barely over...

I suppose that this is a new 2008? What is the MSRP?

I have no big secrets for buying.

The trade-in and buy are separate transactions. No point in getting a good deal on a new car, while getting burned on the trade-in. Negotiate the trade-in first. The price should be good no matter what you are buying.

My target price for the Z is $31,556.

Thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for (when to negotiate price of what)

Hopefully I get what I want.

One more thing, IF the dealer doesn't have the color combination I want in stock, do they usually charge more for finding one at another dealer and selling me that one? Or can I still get the price close to invoice or maybe even lower?

My Z had an MSRP of a little over $35K (exact same as yours - even colors - but with auto and I paid $32300, including tint.

Nice color combo. You should be pleased. My wife is - its her car.

Good luck affording that car buddy. You will be upside down on those payments in no time!

He is saying that because he bought a used car as opposed to new.

My take? Buy what the hell YOU want that makes YOU happy.

Good luck and keep us advised! Also, we will want PICS.

Most local dealers will swap cars at no additional charge. If they have to get for, i.e. go out of state or need to drive out of town then they will charge you for it.

IMO, you get a Z at or below invoice with Nissan and auto sales in general in a dismal state the buyer has the advantage. Note: exceptions being hybrids!

If your dealer can't find a combo you want have them search incoming shipments from Japan. Some of the incoming cars not taken by dealers yet and your deal can request that car. Since, it is early in the month the car is will get here before the special APR expires.

So I got the 2008 Z Touring, in Silver Alloy with frost leather (I decided it looks nicer than carbon silver)

I'm picking it up tonight.

They're detailing it and getting it ready for me so I had to wait a day to get it, I guess that's what happens when you make the deal after the dealer already closed.

30,900 is a pretty good price I think, under invoice (MSRP was 33,910) and they gave me 14,750 for my 05 altima se-r with 56k miles on it (way more than I thought they would)

I'm very happy and can't wait to pick it up tonight!

take it easy at first. remember, there's a 1,200 mile break in period. i just passed 1,000 on mine, and with any luck by the end of the weekend i'll hit that magical 1,200 mile mark!

but at $4.25 a gallon for premium, i might be broke too......

Its July so regional selection is limited. Transfers within the region is easy and inexpensive. It should be on their dime.
