Default Yet another Break-in Question

I'm a proud new owner of an '08 Black Touring Z. It's in Florida and I live in West Virginia. I'm am planing on driving it up here. I know there's the whole 1200 miles break in and I should vary my speeds during the trip. My question is even though I'll do from 55 to 80 the whole way varying my speeds, is it ok to do so much in one shot? If not how should I break it up?

I just broke mine in and from past cars I would say take breaks for your Z whenever u can even though I'm sure you could make the trip in one day.

i asked this same question about 6 weeks ago. i thought i might have to drive 200+ miles to get the 350Z i wanted. turns out i lost it, but thats a whole different story......

i was told to take a few breaks along the way for about a half hour. not sure how far of a drive you have, but besides varying speeds i'd take about a 30 minute break every 100 miles or so.

either way, enjoy the experience. nothing over 4,000 rpms in this machine is like nothing faster than 80 or 90!

Just take normal breaks & you will be fine. Enjoy the ride & good luck spending much time at 55; I could not do it.

Staying below the 4000 RPM seems to be the big deal. Maybe you could break up the trip by using different gears that produce same speed. you can hit 70 in 3rd through 6th.

Welcome to the community. Good luck with the drive. Take it easy, guessing you'll be doing the driver over a couple of days period, don't go mad and you should be fine. Have a good read of the pertinent bits of the owners manual before you zip off anywhere.
