OP, it is an amp gain control. The amp was probably removed by the previous owner when he sold it. Just making sure you got that answer.

ok it has be established that it is in fact, a vtec controller. the OP is gettin his new wiring harness this week.

so yall cant quit with the bulslhit comments now

I just ordered the wiring harness from ebay. I hope it gets here by Friday. I think the **** was set to low before it broke. I am not hearing the vtec loud enough.

you also have to make sure you use platinum-tipped diamond encrusted super wire connectors for that harness otherwise its pointless and you will turn into a honda lover with a disfigured eye socket...
