Two Questions from New Owner
I just bought my Brickyard Touring after 5 years in a 98 M Roadster. At 500 miles I have two different questions. My production number is just above 20,000 (May 03 build). Can I expect many of the early problems (Bose-transmission) to have been fixed by now. My brakes are much firmer on the second pump. Could I have some air in the system.
I love the car. Not quite the brute the roadster was. I like the tall 6th gear. My wife always said the M was like a big dog on a leash. Always tugging at you. The Z is much more refined.

I've had my Brick since mid May (03/03 build). I've experienced none of the problems posted except the window grease on the passenger side but that has gone away on it's own. I've not experienced the brake issue so you may need to have the dealer bleed them for you. ENJOY!

I've had my "Z" now for 10 months and with the exception of the little streak on the window (which is going away) and having the Bose amp replaced, I have had no, long term problems. My transmission is smooth, I have no tire feathering or alignment problems and am 100% satisfied with the car. My VIN is 001890. I really don't think you can tell if your going to have problems by your VIN or build date.. It's a crap shoot..
I have a friend who spent $129K on a Mercedes S600 and it's been in the shop over a dozen times in the 2 months he's owned it.. NY has this lemon law and He's ready to sue Mercedes and make them buy the car back.. I know I would really be pissed after spending that much..
You never know..
You have to ask yourself... Do I feel lucky today??? before buying the car.
