Default New Z Owner..2003 Enthusiast 6sp

I just picked it up earlier today and am very happy with the car. Everything is in great shape and its under warranty for two years. I'm formally a Honda guy formally a Nissan guy. My previous cars (from latest) Acura Legend, S2000, Acura Integra, Nissan Altima.

The car handles great, has torque that my s2k desperately needed and looks awesome. The car came with a K&N drop-in and I have no idea where I'm going to begin modding it. I'm going to start off slow though and take my time. Anyways, I guess that's it.

Oh btw, on the passenger window, when I use the master control and tell it to automatically go up, it goes up all the way then scoots down a few inches. Anyway know of this problem?

I bought the car from an Infiniti dealer so I wasn't able to contact the previous owner. I did a search and found that a lot of people have the same problem and the quick fix has been resetting the window regulator.

I claybared and waxed the car today. I finished after the sun had set so I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them here and in the photo section.

Best way. So many mods, so little time.

Great lookig Z!!

FYI, The 17" wheels you have weren't around in 2003, so it looks like someone sold their custom rims, and picked these up for a song and put em on to trade it in. (Happens alot no biggy)

The 2006+ Z wheels are a nice cheap upgrade if you are wanting different/bigger rims and don't want to spend alot of money. You can find them all over here in the classifieds. I got mine shipped in mint condition with new tires for $800!

oh i thought that was stock for an 03 but come to think of it, i remember what the original wheels look like and am glad i've got these to start with. i recently saw a couple sets of 06+ 5 spoke wheels for sale on craigslist. i'd like to go with those but if i can find a decent set of deep dish wheels then that'll take priority!

My bad you're right. I looked at my 2003 brochure and sure enough the base model did have 17s.

Thanks everyone. It's been a few days now and I love it. The car really is in excellent shape. There are no scratches, dings, chips anywhere except for under the front bumper. The interior is just as good. Makes it feel as though I bought it new.

She looks great!! Sadly there's nothing you can do about the bumper. Nissan paint chips really easy.(esp 03 and 04 models) That combined with the fact that the front of the car is like a snowplow. It used to drive me crazy, untill i looked at everyone elses front end and realized we all suffer the same fate! If you ever get her painted, immediatly put on a clear bra afterwards, that's about all you can do.

First recommendation to all 03~05 owners with stock 17"s: Get some new wheels and drop it. Even stock 18"s from the newer years. You will be amazed at how much better the car looks.

Although a drop looks nice, some poeple (Like myself) live in a pot hole ridden area where a drop just isn't practical!! But the 18" OEM upgrade is a big plus. And is cheap!!

+ speed bumps can become a bit of nightmare. Although you get used to stradling speed bumps to get across.

I'm free of potholes but speed bumps are a nightmare around here. From previous vehicles, I'm used to hitting the bumps at 45 degrees to avoid scraping. I think I'll start looking for the OEM 18" wheels from 06+ to install and go from there. As for the drop, I'll go for what the general forum recommendation is and install Eibachs.
