Welcome.

If your asking if you can change from AT to MT, the answer is no. if you really want a MT do NOT buy the AT.

welcome mang. I made the swap from a v8 (68 Camaro) to this as well, oddly enough, a 04.5 lemans sunset AT too. feels like a modernized muscle car to me

the best bang for the buck performance mod you will get is an intake plenum spacer, look into it, motordyne makes some very quality ones .. : )

I was talking about the rear gears. but ive learned that i would need to swap to a mt differential in order to install 3.7 or 3.9 gears

thx for the welcome btw

Dont bother with the UD pully sets. Not a real good bang for your buck type of mod. I would invest in Plenum Spacer (Z1, motordyne, powerlab), Test Pipes, Popcharger or 06 Airbox with K&N Filter, and a high quality exhaust system. After you install these get a tune and youll enjoy your car much more.

I'll bite for the noob...

Changing out the rear gears is not as common in the Z as is with the mustangs. For us, we swap gears, thrown on an exhaust, and get a hand held tuner. Not as easy with the Z.

Scrap the pulleys... They have been known to do more harm then good. Intake (or popcharger), exhaust, test pipes, and a plenum spacer should keep you happy for a little while.

Welcome to the forum Sunburst. Have a good look around the forum, that will probably answer a lot of your questions.
