Default Is this really a BASE?

Hi,

I bought an '03 350Z 6 months ago. Was it possible to get cruise, leather, navigation, and bose in the base trim? I don't have the HID's so I'm pretty sure it is a base. I just want to know if the previous owner put in these items himself. If so wouldn't it have been smarter just to get a higher trim which included all these features?

'03 Tourings didn't come with brembos, Grand Touring is a newer model designation which does come with brembos.
I'm pretty certain it would take a small miracle to put factory nav into a car, post-production because I seem to recall curtain air-bags being an inclusion with Nav?
something like that.

Sounds like you have a Touring. You can always check for a LSD also... those weren't standard on Base models.

If you have buttons on your steering wheel for cruise control and stuff then you have something that is not a base.

if you don't have tcs/vdc off botton, it's a base.

cruise control + navi + leather + bose = nottabase. i'm gonna go with the previous post and say its too much to add all these options besides the bose and the leather. however i didn't know touring didn't come with HIDs which is no biggie.

LOL However the VIN indicates a base...I wonder what kind of monster I bought...It was a US car brought over to Canada. I hope it's not some chop shop BS. It has TCS/VDC. It also has Cruise on the steering wheel...

Where did you pull the VIN? Is it the same VIN on the etchings, fenders, cowl ect?

It's possible you got the vin off of a swapped part, post factory.

It's 6spd so that rules out touring no? I pulled the VIN from under the windshield in the dash...I don't know any good reason that would have been changed.

vin number does not tell you what model. If it has cc, it is not Base; period end of topic.

It sounds like a Touring with HIDs swapped out.

It depends on the country you're in.
Some models even though they are touring do not come equip with HID (i.e. Australia I believe).

Where are you located?

It was a US car imported to Canada. Is there any way/markings to tell the trim? I'm just curious.
