Default New to the Z

Hey I'm the new owner of a 2004 350z with 54k miles. I plan on keeping this car for awhile and I wanted to "beef" it up with a sound system, body kit, etc. but more importantly performance.

I was wondering, if you guys new how much horsepower the stock internals can take before I need to start swapping cams, pistons, etc.

I was also wondering what you guys think I should get first as far as perfomance goes. For example, should I get Cat back exhaust before I put dual Short ramp intakes. or should I just turbo it, and If I do trubo it ( I'm new to this) how necessary is a piggy back system.

Any responce to the questions above would be great, thanks

if you have an 04 why on earth would you need dual intakes... Search please all this has Been covered many times. You don't have a HR motor btw.... Single intake is all you need. Best bang for buck being popcharger. Also vq35de (your motor) can handle 400 safe I would say. Give or take a few horses. Have a great day.

If you want performance, don't pork it up with a body kit and sounds system stuff.

Very, unless you want to pop your motor.

Pretty much I want to put a single trubo in it, but I want to keep stock internals. I guess thats called a bolt on? Sorry for not searching and for being vague. I realize if I get it turboed I'll need a boost controller, but if I get a trubo good for like 400WHP, give or take, then will a piggy back really be necessary?

In a addition to that, please excuse me for not knowing. But what is a popcharger? and Is it better then a CAI?

A popcharger is an intake, good for a 6.5 WHP gain, but people have had problems with stalling at high speed, while in neutral. That may have been fixed, I'm not sure. Here's the link http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/cus...asp?PartID=350
