Default just got a 2008 350Z

I bought a 2008 350Z off an auction. Its a little banged up but nothing horrible. I currently drive a 2008 Mercedes C350 but for the summer i wanted to switch things up a bit. Good decision???

yea its a salvage.
Damage is one control arm, fender, headlight and the door is a little banged up. It is definietly repairable. i got it for 5500 with 398 miles on it. The thing that sucks though is that its a base

IIRC, the salvage law in NJ is if the repair cost is more than 80% of the value of the vehicle. To me, that sounds like the damage is severe. At $5500, that is an additional data point that makes me think the damage is severe. For $5500, I'd take the HR motor, new transmission, differential, interior components, etc. in a heartbeat.

Pics would help.

Most body panels need replacement, and who knows what's up with the suspension under that carnage. Still cheap $ to pick it up, but you have a lot of work ahead of you.

Our bodyshop gets large discounts from the dealerships. I picked up the fender for $77 and the hood for $130. As to the undercarrage, its perfectly fine, we put it on the lift and its good. It fired right up and all gears are fine. 398 miles, its not even broken in. It should be done in about a week. Ill def post pics up and let you see how it came out

Ah - body shop. Sounds like a great deal, especially with the cheap parts. Can I get a hood for $130 - I won't tell anyone! Looking forward to the pics.

Looks a bit more than "a little banged up", but at least you got it for a good price. There's a lot of damaged panels, and the roof too. Did you have anyone else check if over for you before purchase? Probably a bit late now you have it anyway. Oh, and is that rust on the right hand fender? Must have been sitting for a while.

Sounds like it is coming along nicely. How much of a finders fee would you want to get me an HR hood for $130?

Just a little banged up? Wow, that thing is trashed. Sorry but that thing will be a money pit for your wallet. Have fun fixing her up. When you are done you will have obtained complete technical and mechanical knowledge of a 350z. lol.
