Default 2006 Redline

Hello Everyone,

I'm the proud new owner of a 2006 Redline with 29K miles. I'm very happy with my new toy and can't wait to start modifying it.

My only concern is the oil consumption problem that I keep hearing about the 2006 model. If I knew this ahead of time, I think I would have stayed clear of the 2006 model.

I would appreciate some reassuring comments from other 2006 owners that this problem is isolated and I shouldn't worry too much. Or, let me know that this is a big problem and provide some options to fix it.

Thanks,

John

No big deal. You can pickup a case of oil at WalMart for about $35.

There are many threads in this forum that talks about this problem and it seems that it's bascially 50/50 you have this problem.

I'll just have to stock up on oil if I'm one of the poor dude that have the problem.

Another question, how do you know if your 2006 model is a 2006.5? The built date on my car's door plate says February 2006. Is this a 2006.5 model?

Thanks again

I don't believe there were 2006/2006.5 models. I don't remember seeing anything about a 2006 revision.

Go to the Revup oil consumption sticky thread in the Engine subforum. Everything is there that you need to know.

As a Revup owner you *should* read through it. It will take you a few hours but it will answer any questions you have now or may have in the future.
