Default Mah 350z

got my 2006 350z base this past Tuesday. traded in lancer gts... it has 24k miles and i got the extended warranty for 5y/75k miles since i drive a lot

still learning to shift smoothly but loving it.

here is a pic

what worries me are winters... i live in the Us northeast and go snowboarding. I figured how to fit it in however how about that rear wheel drive going up the mountain? I would guess winter tires are a must? Any pointers concerning that? Any recomendation on good winter tires?

Welcome to the community. Snow tyres or perhaps a beater for Winter might not be a dumb move, if you can.

The angle of the picture is lower then that other one, maybe that is why the hood is not so pronounced. Also its a 2006 model (first date in service was in march 07).

Definitely getting snow tires and will see how it goes. I drove the bishi with all seasons last years winter and went to all the mountains around with no problem. Then again I do have friends with SUVs and Subarus so maybe the z would be for around town and wont have to go up the mountains.

That is like 6 months away for now its all fun and games hehehe

Renting a FWD car wouldn't be a bad way to still get out in the snow vs buying a beater. If you are older than 25 yrs old, you can rent a compact car for under $15/day.

No, the hood is the way it should be for an '06. The '07+ has a different hood. Just wanted to make sure the seller didn't tell you that you were buying more than you really were.

Congrats on a good looking Z.

well its not a "want" its a "need"... its the only car i have now and winter will come. Look at it that way. Its not like i thought: "Hey I'll buy a Z couse i need an winter car". Maybe its poor planing since I live in VT but its the car I always wanted. So, now i have to find a way to work with winter. I apreciate the advice and when the time comes I will make a decision that would, i guess, be one of the follwing:

- get winter tires and maybe cables that you tput on tires and it never leaves town, use it for short commutes and hitch rides with friends to go up mountain.
- a $1000 beater and use that most of the time during winter and go up mountain with it.

I should mention that I do not have big commutes to worry about.

Anyway don't make me think about that now.... hehehe

Another bummer in VT.. a license plate cannot begin with "Z" or contain only "Z". I was thinking of the dream license plate...

Z

Now I'm thinking of "NFS" as in Need For Speed but its probably taken.
