Just got my 2003 Z yesterday and I can't seem to get the trunk to open. I press the button on the keychain and afterwards, I push in the button above the license plate, but it won't open. It "pops" like it's supposed to when I push both buttons. Not sure what's going on!!

 

Oh you mean the hatch? Try push the button, lift the hatch, push the button again, and open it.

Your poppers may be worn.

As Spork says, then you should be able to open the boot/trunk fine.

 

Have you by any chance got a spoiler on your trunk? I've got the Nismo S-Tune, with new poppers i might add, and it pops but you have to lift and push the button to actually have it open due to the additional weight on the trunk (i've checked with nissan and that was their opinion on that specific issue)

 

Mine does the same I hit my button twice and lift up on the hatch I also have a spoiler on mine. It has something to do with the poppers and can be fixed with no problem. Also I heard something about a penny trick that will fix this problem right away.
