Z New to Me, Me New to Z
Hey Guys,
I have been cruising around the forum for a while now. I have registered right after i have bought mine. I have been looking for a Z for the past 10-11 months. I have test driven numerous models from 2004 to 2007. Miles ranging from 21,000 to 40,000. I have owned 3 other cars before Z, so i learned quite a bit in general in what to pay attention. I have officially bought my first Z on August 15th. We were at the dealership for nearly 6-7 hours haggling. I have gotten a 2008 Nissan 350Z Touring model with 100 Miles [Luckily, it was exactly 100]. Originally i was hoping to get a dark blue color, but i am happy with my silver as well
.
The funny thing was, we went to Dealership to see whether my 02 Accord Coupe EX-L was qualified for CARS. Since it hit 133,000 miles, i wasn't getting a lot for it. It wasn't qualified, but i was able to get 3,500 from it from their original offer of 1,000. Then i ended up test driving a 2009 Altima Coupe. I told them that i was not interested [since they don't carry MT anymore], they have directed me to the showroom model, 350Z. I would tell you the whole story but, i am keeping my first post short. At the end, i am very happy with this little machine
. Since i will be living in it for the most time, i thought it is a good investment
Here are some stock photo's.. I am keeping it stock all the way

I am guy who admires natural beauty.
. I kept all my cars stock, and i think this will be no exception, especially since it is as beautiful as it is. Tell you the truth, i admire the rims on the car, lights, everything. But i do like them Brembo Brakes on Grand Touring :P.
I got it from Woodbury Nissan, as can be seen from the plates
I wish i lived in PA..I bet the car would look a lot better without the front plate..

CongratZ and welcome.
It's refreshing to read a post from a new owner who thoroughly researched the car, test drove many, took his time looking, etc. and made a thorough evaluation BEFORE purchasing!

Thanks guys for the Welcome.
It wasn't an easy choice after switching from a 4 seater coupe to 2 seater. I mean it only took a test drive last year to convince myself. After that i didnt care about those "extra" 2 seats. To hell with them
Looking back, i am thanking myself for not buying the first one i test drove. I remember i was extremely excited about the car. I actually remember driving about 70 miles to test drive another one. Good times.. good times
This is the most powerful car i have owned to date.. I remember driving a 1.4L, 110 HP Renault Broadway just about 10 years ago.. lol.

Thank you guys..
Well i might play around with the reflector, the Z light on the side, and couple of interior electrical improvements, then yes i won't be keeping it stock.. But you will never hear me saying "i've got new rims" or "i put on a turbo" or "I've got an intake"..
. But you might hear the Brembo breaks, but again, that isn't modding the way you guys think modding works
So, yes the car will be kept stock
I got it for 27,000[Actually it is 26,998
]. But car's price was not the only thing we haggle for. Trade-In price and the APR was also included in this estimate

Hey Guys again.. I wanted to share with you my experiences and views over the past month i owned the car.. I was afraid to open a new topic of the fear of getting bashed
. I have noticed that once the bash starts, it never ends so i am going to keep it safe, and keep going from here.
Before Z, i have owned few cars. These being 1994 Renault Broadway, 1999 Renault Megane I [well, i can hardly say "owned" but regularly used it], 1996 Honda Accord[First used car in states], then 2002 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L. Luckily, i always upgraded, so i am used to jumping up in scale but not this much.. 2002 Accord being my previous ride, i have spent most of my time with that car, hittin 133,003 miles when i left it at the dealer and i can clearly say that i think i have taken the biggest and the best step i have.
Even though i did not have a chance to take her to a pleasure drive, i was constantly driving to School and work. Keeping the accord in mind, of course the MPG hit a somewhat wall, but i do not mind that at all. I am just pointing out the differences i felt.
I do not care about the two seats i have sacrificed. Since the last month, there were couple instances i needed the back seats, but what can i say.. Not really feeling it
.
I have been reading for a long time the Bose sounds system is not everyone's favorite. Well it is working quite well for me tell you the truth. I am very pleased with the sound and quality of the whole system. Even though my Accord had "premium" sound system, i am very happy with bose, and not really thinking about changing the sound system, however i have some thoughts on taking over of the Stock radio/cd unit. The fact that you cannot plugin your Ipod without buying a kit kind of annoys me, but we will see. Since i wanna keep the functionality of the controls on the steering wheel, this is not a high priority.
The leather seats in my opinion are pretty well built. I have been driving the car everyday, putting nearly 20~40 miles a day. New Jersey Climate was kind of beein **** for the last 2-3 days, so i had a chance to use the **** heaters, and the automatic climate control, also pretty nice.
Being able to open the windows from the remote is a very handy feature, but why not close with the remote as well? I think this is a missed feature and i am kind of wondering why this might be the case. I am aware you can do it with the key, but it could have been nice to do it with the remote. I might find this is a project for myself once i get some time off. Also, Accord had this nice feature that i am missing in Z. When you lock the doors in Accord, it shuts the lights automatically after 25-30 seconds. Being used to this setup, i left my lights on and lock the door. Well i found it the hard way that the lights do not shut automatically. So it took me a good month to get used to this feature. But again, not whining here, just pointing out.
Ever since i got the car, i have been fueling her up with Ultra 93, from Sunoco, and i am getting nearly 350 Miles with full tank when i do not exceed 3500 rpm.
Accord only having 148HP, i was able to change gears without a trace..What i mean by that is, when i used change gears, no one in the car would feel it. I am having hard time doing this with Z. Especially going from 1 to 2. I guess i need to find the sweet spot for that..
I have read some reviews saying that the interior is loud. I really do not mind that, in fact i really like the unique throttle noise when you accelerate..
I have invested in cleaning tools from DI. I have been reading alot regarding to cleaning, so yesterday i have spent 3 hours cleaning the exterior.. Sadly, not having access to a hose, i was limited with two buckets of water to clean the whole thing [i kept going upstairs to get fresh water]. I was kind of afraid to clean the engine, but i felt confident. But i didn't do a good job. I am looking at it as a "work-out" session, since after i was done i was basically knocked out.
Only having her for a month so far, i got my first payment notice.. And i checked my clock, and noticed i now have 1300 miles....
I will post some pic little later. But so far, i am extremely happy with Z
.
Thanks

I had two weeks of break after such a long time of rushing through school and work. She has been sitting in the lot for the past week.. I had a little incident with my ankle [luckily it was the clutch foot
].. Since i got little bit more time, i am going to take a look at track over in Jersey. I would like to enjoy her a little bit more..
It kind of sucks to see rain after spending 3 hours on cleaning it..
