Thumbs up New 350z owner from AL

I purchased my 2003 350z on Monday. It is an Enthusiast model with 6 spd manual and 67k miles. The exterior looks great, I will be recovering the seats soon... I'm open to any suggestions for good seat covers/skins. I also have a 99 Mazda Miata, which I may be selling pretty soon as I won't be driving it much now that I have the 350z

Welcome to the forum and congratZ on the Daytona Blue. Are you not tempted to keep the Miata for those days when you want to drive top down?

Thanks for the welcome! I'm tempted to keep the Miata, but when I think about it I really don't end up driving top down very often. I live in a sub-tropical climate where it is either extremely hot and humid or raining 90% of the year so I end up driving the Miata around with the hardtop on all the time. There's a small chance I may keep the Miata as an extra car, but it would be nice to get the money for selling it.

Black would be my first choice in color, but dark blue is a close 2nd. I'm not crazy about the grill either as I don't like anything "flashy" on my car. Surprisingly it seems to be the first thing people have noticed and complimented on the car. I guess it does serve some function by blocking rocks from hitting the AC condenser so I'll leave it on for now.

I hear ya... only problem is I believe the stock grill was cut out or removed to install this grill, so if I remove it there will be a gaping hole in the front

I hear ya. Know what it's like living in a very humid environment. Air con is definitely your best friend.
Lol, you know if you sell the Miata, it'll just go into the money pit, oops I meant 350, honest.

Lol, I'm hoping that the 350 won't be too much of a money pit if I keep it stock mechanically. I've done some basic maintenance on it, changed the oil and drivebelts, and so far she is running great. I've already put about 1k miles on her and there is no oil consumption or leaks and the tranny shifts smoothly Custom seat covers arrive this week and I plan to upgrade from the stock CD player soon.

Famous last words, unless you stick to it. Being part of a community is bad, bad for the pocket, mod wise.

I probably will eat my words one day when I give in and do that "one small mod" like an air intake or exhaust. Every time I'm tempted to do any performance upgrade I remind myself of the chain reaction that always occurs with modifications. One modification always leads to another!

After the CD player you will realize the speaker need upgraded and then the downward spiral begins. Enjoy your Z and welcome

I live on the other side of the bay, just south of Mobile. I'll try to remember to post pics of the seat covers after I have received and installed them I also have a JVC KW-AVX820 on the way to replace the lousy stock CD player
