Congrats- be sure to watch the car for oil consumption during your first several thousand miles. Black "soot" on the exhaust tips is usually a giveaway.

Check the oil in the morning after the car has been sitting there overnight for the most accurate reading. There's an oil consumption sticky thread over in the engine and drivetrain area.

Here are the tips, I plan on washing the car today. This is the way they are untouched.

Looks like soot. Rub your finger along the bottom, black stuff should come off. Give it a vigorous cleaning and those things should shine pretty good. May take a bit of elbow grease to get all the soot off.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about your '06.

I cleaned the car, not too much came off. I have metal polish I will take to it this weekend, I have a 6xx mile trip tomorrow so no point in getting crazy since it will get filthy on the highway.

Thanks for the offer, I'll try not to abuse it.

Seriously. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. It was a small portion of affected cars yet so many people spread it. It's not nearly as widespread as the 07+ clutch or early model feathering problem.

Yes it is and I just found out the engine was replaced under warranty with the clutch, radiator, some sensors and it has "lifetime" coolant 10k ago.

Took a rim off, here is the back:

Anyone know what kind of rims they are? this is meaningless to me.

Is it safe to assume this is a stock shock?

Stock shock, but no clue what wheels those are. They have the japanese stamp, though. 18x10- interesting size.

Nismo is being a d!ck. The car has had three engines including a monster expensive stroker that failed.

Car has been sold.
