New owner in Phoenix 06 6MT
Took the car to a differential specialist. He thinks the pinion retention nut is loose. Yet another mess up by my mechanic from heck.
6-900.00 to do and 2 days after all the parts get here possibly a week from Thursday.
He strongly suggested I not drive the car so I'll get to see what an open 3.5 feels like tomorrow when it goes in.
This is my fault because I thought whew, the car is done and all is well THE NIGHT BEFORE THIS STARTED

Sounds like it wasn't torqued properly. Also the sleeve and pinion nut have to be replaced every time. I bring mine to the local driveline shop that does all the Vegas Valley race cars. Cost me $200 + parts to do my 3.7 gear swap, that with me handing them the 3rd member.
The shop that did it is out of business due to numerous failures culminating in the owner dying under suspicious circumstances. Literally everything they did for me had to be redone. Thank god this is the last thing left. I know the sleeve and nut were not replaced.
If I ordered "everything needed to rebuild" from the dealer would you think they would be included? I hope so and if he didn't I hope they are local. The pinion bearing is not in the western U.S. and is coming from Tennessee, that is the hold up.
Thanks

Diff swapped out. It's weird how different the car feels Having only the rear solid bearing reduces vibration, torque feels down, obviously being pushed by only one wheel feels totally different. The whine is gone.
Ring and pinion look ok, hope they are.

Beats having the ring & pinion (OR QUAIFE) frying.
Really beats stranding me.
It will be 100% and have been done by someone that knows what they are doing and gives a damn.

I don't have solid diffs but I do have a poly tranny mount, it sounds like a semi-truck and since I wasn't able to really break it in before I left... I have no idea how well the new clutch/flywheel set up works the supercharger.
I had a solid trans mount in for a day. 0myf*ckingod.
Here is a bad AFR video I took today. (video bad not the #s)

Picked these up today. Since I already had a set can I multiply by 2 and have 8.166?
Dropped them off at the differential shop god I can't wait to get the quaife & gears back car feels awful on the stock open diff.
