New Z owner in KS (IRAQ ATM)
Hello all, just thought i'd drop a line. my wife bought me a 2005 z touring edition a couple months back. problem with that is, i'm in iraq, so all i get to do is drool for the next 5 months till my deployment is over. it was a nice surprise though...
I grew up being a pontiac driver. started out with a sunfire (all i could afford at the time), then moved on to a grand am. well, after the engine crapped out on me, i finally bought myself a new vehicle, a 2006 Titan. I LOVED that truck. unfortunately i was then sent to germany, and didn't want that big ole truck on the narrow german roads (save the autobahn, but a big truck on the autobahn just spells trouble anyways) so i sold it. When me and my wife got to germany, i totaled her pontiac G6 on valentine's day, so when she found me in the back of an ambulance, i told her "Happy valentine's day, i'm gettin you a new car!" Now she's driving a BMW X3, so i'd call that a nice upgrade.
well, now that we're back in the states (kind of), i needed a car, so she surprised me with the Z. I have been scouring the forums, because i can't wait to start doing some modding (after i get used to driving the car in factory condition). i'm going to make it a sleeper. I'll probably start with the wheels, then move on to the engine, then do some things to the interior, just to make it a little nicer looking, and not so plastic-y.
anyways, just wanted to introduce myself, i'll post some pics of the Z when i get a chance.

Chrome Silver. It already has a popcharger installed, and from the looks of the brakes drilled and slotted rotors. got it with 48k miles on it. the guy wanted 18k for it, but my argumentative wife talked him down to 14 and change. gotta love her

Nice car! I just bought mine on Sept. 11 of this year and I promise you will fall in love yours (if you haven't already) when you get home. Looks like you have a lot to look forward to when you get home (other than the car) Sounds like you have a killer wife and a cool brother in law. Thanks so much for what you are fighting for, be safe, come home soon!

Very nice car. Looking good!See you around.
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to asking a bunch of noob questions, but hopefully i'll be able to keep them down to a minimum
If anyone's ever in the Ft. Riley area after april-ish of 2011, look me up, i'll be there.
the fun part is going to be the interior, because i saw a picture of an interior mod that someone did to their doors, and i want to do something similar. I digress, that's another discussion for another time.
once again, thanks for the warm welcome.
