Default My Z!

I've been on the forums for a few months now, but had never uploaded any photos. Thought I would post these in the new owners section because I have only had the Z for a few months now. Let me know what you think!

Car looks clean Kyle! Any mods in your first few months? Did you black out the side markers yourself?

Yep, I blacked them out with about 3 coats of VHT night shade ( I know, I know, its not the greatest product) but it works very well for the side markers. I also got the 1'' Perrin shorty antenna, 10% tint, and took off the rear wiper. When I got the car, it was full of swirl marks, chips, and the driver door was keyed. I resprayed the front bumper and polished out almost every single swirl. Repainted the interior door handle and cubby hole with duplicolor too. Not many mods, just fixing things that the previous owner didn't care for.

Looks clean... Nice job.

I would recommend some 20mm and 25mm wheel spacers.

Thats funny you would mention that, i'm looking for them as we speak. I am between H&R or Eibach. From what I have heard, they are basically the same. Any input? I'm not so much of a painter, more of a detailer. I got the front bumper done at a local body shop for $230 and its flawless. Perfect paint match, the clear coat is obviously "shinier", but i'm happy with the results

I have Ichiba V2 spacers and love em. i bought them from a member on here for $75 for 20mm x2 and 25mm x2.. SICK deal. thats the approach id take if you like your money to be yours

I liked the V2 because you take off your wheels, put the spacers on, and put the wheel back on. No extended lugs or any bs like that...

Aren't the ones with extended lugs safer though? You got a great deal by the way. From what I have seen, ill be paying $250+ unless I find someone selling them like you did.

when I had my stockers I had the Ichiba V2. I've read very good reviews in regards to the H&R spacers.

Ill look into them then. Did you roll your fenders when you put the spacers on? I would think that the wheels might rub over certain speed bumps or pot holes.

you probably won't need to roll your fenders if you are still stock height

I'll probably end up rolling them anyways because i'll be getting coilovers within the next few months. I'm looking at getting 30mm in the rear and 25mm in the front, ichiba v2. Thanks for the help!

I know right! Smoked reflectors change the entire look of the car, especially if its black!

Do you have your tails blacked out? I have a dark green RX8 that has the tails blacked out and its almost invisible at night...

Looks good on PPW too imo tho, see:

I don't have the tails blacked out because I don't want people to think i'm going for the complete black out look. I like the red too, I don't really know why, but I always thought the car looked cleaner without the tails smoked. If I blacked out the tails, I would end up going all the way (wheels, headlights, door handles, emblem, ect.) I do like it on the PPW though, I was always fond of contrasting colors.

I forgot about this picture too

Yea, I just wanted to try it out on my 8 and ended up liking it alot. My Zs lights are 2x as dark at least thanks to a fly swan diving into my final coat.. but 2 coats later it still shows dark red through and i love it... contrast in color is what im goin for!

Youre goin with coilovers soon then? any method to the madness or are you just picking and choosing mods? I want coils but i have no justification for them since i dont track it at all...

I'm all about stance. I love a stanced car, but need to get my money straight before I go in for coilovers. Wheel spacers are no big deal due to the fact they should be $200 or under for 30mm rears and 25mm fronts. However, coilovers are another $1000+. I would go the spring route, but I want a better ride, an don't want to kill my struts. I also like the freedom of adjusting my cars ride height at any given time

I love a good drop too, but for me, since its my DD, i dont have the $ to spend on coils, camber kits, alignments, and new tires anyway... PLUS the fender roll you were speaking of... Might i suggest a pop charger? Makes the Z sound better and is relatively cheap!
