Wassup up guys? I bought my 04 like... last week and first thing i noticed when i opened the door was "holy ****! does this door really open out to 90 degrees?" I'm used to just lightly swinging a car door out and letting the bump stops catch it but that didnt happen with the Z. Now i have 2 small nipples where the forward part of the door hit 2 fenders bolts im guessin.
Is my Z just special (the retarded kind of special) or do they not come with door stops to keep it from opening so far?

 

Definitely "special". Some pictures would help, but the door should never swing that far.

there is a thingy (gues that would be the stop lever) - bolts from the door to the front fender door jamb - the bolt that goes into the fender goes loose on mine (driver's side only) and I have to tighten it every couple weeks. maybe yours came out completely.

Pics would help alot to determine what is happening to your "special Z". Need to see your door jams. Couldnt stop laughing at this when i was reading. But it looks like your door checker is missing by these pics.

 

This is the stop lever you are referring to. It should be a periodic maintenance item to tighten this bolt.

seems like you z has been modded by someone else and didn't put things back in the way they came also look at your pedal foot rest there should be a silver looking shield that covers those bolts.

 

I actually just messed with these as I was replacing my lambo doors. I say tear your door panel off and pull the thing out(3 bolts total) and take a pic of it for us.
