Like the thread title says, I'm looking into purchasing used 03, what kind of problems can I expect from owning a 350z. I've read all about tires feathering, bad 3rd gear, thin paint. I am a little hesitant of Nissan customer service since I currently own a 02 specv with a bad 3rd gear and they have yet to do anyhting about it. Is the 350z a reliable car? Will the clutch burn out easily even with eveyday driving, is the tranny issue of 3rd resolved after dealer installs new tranny? Does the paint continue to chip like a mother? Long term use...will this car run to 100k with minimal problems, I know these are hard questions to anwer but I'd like some feedback, I really like the 350z but after having a problem ridden nissan specv I'm more hesitant of car purchases.

also is it true that the 350z was engineered in california under nissan of america's direction? Are all 350z manufactured in Japan?
