Default pulling the trigger on a z.

ill start off by saying im one day from 18 years old. ill be receiving my 20,000 grand from a lawsuit. i would like to spend no more than 15,000. i dont know very much about cars just the basics. so im going to get something that hasnt been worked on so i could do it my self and learn.

i can pay for insurance and gas. just got a few ???

if a prevous owner used regular gas and i switch to premuim will there be any problems?

also im not sure which year to get and how they differe in body style ( if at all) . maybe 03- 05 if it was in the price range. what would you guys do? save a couple grand for parts and a get a 03 or 04? or go for 05. im not currently interested in racing it at this point in my life.

thanks

OK talk with you when you get some money.

or a window to throw it through.

forget those queers dude.

i would NOT buy a Z if the people before you didn't put the right kind of gas into your 350z/vq35de/hr - F that.

03-05 will be cheaper and is the worst 350z ..you will find in your price range.
06 idk.. this one is kinda like the 03-05 but idk. rev up isn't worth it. might as well get a DE.
07-08 will be more expensive but is the best 350z.. doubt you find for 15.

vq's are good motors.

how about give us a link or something.. you asked us something pretty broad.

for 15k, i'd buy an integra, swap a k20 in it and you'll be a car slower than a stock HR but with full bolt ons and kpro.

Nothing wrong with getting the early models since all models have issues. Wider selection of aftermarket stuff too. Mines an 03 with 70k and my window motor went out.... Thats it.

you can afford a lot more than a z haha. but in all honesty spending around 75% of your proceeds on a car to work on and learn about might not be your wisest decision. start off with something small and put the rest aside in a savings account for school. just an opinion..your money, your rules.

buy a integra? You are a moron

OP - 05 is your best bet for fewest problems other than the 07,08
I wouldn't go near a car that hasn't been running the right gas, but that's just me. Be patient and find one that has been well taken care of and it will be good to you.

There is a lot of information on this site about the 350z's, take a browse around.

My advice to you since you're 18 and have a large sum of money coming to you is to just take it and invest it. I had a large of sum of money like that when I was your age and I blew it on cars when I was in college. Trust me learn from others mistakes.. I'm 28 now and wish I had invested to put as a down payment for a house.

+1. I made the same mistake when i was in college. Even though i am financially in a pretty good position, I wish I could invest all those money in stocks & stuff.

Remember kid, temptation always overwhelms wisdom. Think about it real hard b4 you blow big chunk of money into something that will worth 1/2 value few years from now.
