Default New Owner In BC, 04 Enthusiast

Hey all, I picked up my 04 350z last week. It has 87k and is 6mt. Its my first manual so I am currently learning on my dads 97 F150 with no tachometer...insuring the Z today so might take it out for a bit tonight. My previous car was a 98 honda prelude. Ive been a lurker for awhile, granted I hung out on g35driver because I was set on one of those, but here I am! On to the pictures...

Go easy on me with the wheels, they came with the car. I know you guys will be cringing in your seats

This was the day I brought it home

The rest of these pics were after a wash

mods with the car:
-20" Double G by Giovanna Wheels, no idea of width or offsets, wrapped on Nitto Invos with 245/30 fr, 275/30 r
-Alpine Type R speakers all around and a type S sub in the bose spot. Both are amped and hidden in the glove box
-some cheap sony deck

Im picking up an RDX/Avenger antenna later this week. Next I want to get the haze in my headlights buffed out, THEN NEW WHEELS AND COILOVERS haha.

*Update

I got the Z insured today and went for a drive after dinner. WOW, I gotta say, it was quite a bit easier compared to my dads truck. I was struggling from a stop to get it going, bucking like crazy, stalling a few times, but when I got in my car today it came a lot easier. I only stalled once, but I also only went driving for about 20 mins. They arent perfect takeoffs, but im making progress. Im going to keep driving everyday so I can move onto actual roads with traffic and some hills

Also, when I crank the wheel all the way, it starts to rub in the front...what could it be?

Thanks everyone! I know the wheels are bit of an eye sore, but I am not sure how much longer I will have them for. It all depends how much I can save up. I really want some new ones before summer, but well see. If I cant get some by late July, I might just hold off till winter...which means I have to roll like a boss through summer hahaha

Oh well, I am just excited to be driving a Z.

By the way, I am now driving on my own. Still getting comfortable with everything as it has only been a couple days so far. Still need to work on takeoffs from hills without rolling back too much. Sometimes I even go a little bit out of my way to avoid lights or stop signs on hills

CannMann, one technique for starting on a steep hill without rolling back is to use the hand brake. Push and hold in the hand brake release button and pull the lever back just enough to keep the car from rolling back. Now you will only have to work the clutch and gas pedals and not have to rush your left foot from the brake to the clutch.

You can take your time and slowly let out the clutch while releasing the hand brake. In many Euro countries you must demonstrate proficiency in this technique to get a driver’s license.

Where are you located, we have quite a good crew here from all over the Vancouver area. I’m in West Vancouver and we have many hills so steep that I can barely see over my hood, but a Z can handle them with aplomb.

I actually remember reading about the hand brake method, but I forgot about it. I may have to give that a try, thanks for the tip.

I live in Abby. West Van though...man, I thought we had enough hills haha.
