Talking Newbie looking at Z.. need help!!

Hey guys,
I am looking at buying a Enthusiast of Performance Daytona Blue 350Z. I want to know if there's any changes in 2003 and 2004 beside's the addition of the roadster? Also somebody tell me some things I need to know when picking this car up at the dealership? What's the first thing I should do in my car... fun things!! .. anyways let me know. Also what kinda times are you guys running at the local strips? I am very excited and my dealer said that he would have to order a Daytona Blue, i am stuck with Daytona Blue and love the color... anybody else know of this "new" silver that is coming out on only '04s? ALso can somebody tell me the "Shift" light works? Thanks!

some changes on the 04s are the navigation door and knee pads. there are more, but i can't think of them right now. try doing a search. but the "new" silver is called liquid aluminum. its kinda similar to chrome silver, but it has a pearl in it.

First of all, welcome!

Go to the dealer with info from edmunds.com and your game face.

The first thing I'd do is buckle up and adjust your seat/mirrors

IMHO - I'd recommend not doing any "fun things" in the car until you are very comfortable with it, and this can be argued but after 1200 miles. Even then be careful, as you will notice numerous posts on here that start out with "turned off vdc/tcs and wrecked my Z"

Also - seat belt extenders, sun visors, different shifter style in the autos...mine's an 04 without kneepads. Depends on when it was made, you should get them if its ordered. Liquid Aluminum is a $1200 option I believe.

You can find plenty more details about all of these by doing a search like mgl said.

Good luck!

Yup, on the sides of the center console, IMO they look kinda goofy and I'd never hit them anyways with my knees.

Try a search for pics and such.
