Introduction
I'm not really a "new" Z owner anymore (bought it sept 2011) but I have been on another forum most of the time so I never introduced myself here.
It's a 2003 Touring with 59xxx miles now (bought with 49xxx)
Mods:
Replica HKS Exhaust*
eBay SRI*
TSW 19" Wheels*
Windows and rear window tinted*
5/16 Motordyne Plenum Spacer
StopTech slotted rotors w/HPS pads and SS lines
Aerosync Front Bumper (just got it monday, test fitting tomorrow)
JVC headunit w/ Boston Acoustics front speakers, crossovers, and tweeters (it had 2 12" alpines when I bought it, but I sold them for $600)
*mods already installed when I bought it
Don't really have any desire to mod anything else, although I'd like to get rid of the eBay intake.
Maybe some HFC's
Gia Cuzzo rear spoiler (but not realistic)
Here are some pics

Welcome to the community!
I've got a 03 Touring Silverstone.
Check my veh pics to compare notes.
Yeah, the Gia Cuzzo spoiler is fantastic.
You may consider a Blitz.I just took off my
OEM spoiler and installed a Blitz(pre-painted).
IMO,best looking low rise spoiler for a Z.

I bought the car in September 2011 and the biggest flaw was the front bumper, which had a split right in the middle of the lip, and the paint was chipped off all over the bumper.
The guy I bought it from said it was from a beer bottle hitting the bumper from a guy on the freeway who threw it out of the window ahead of him.
idk if that's true or not, but it seemed plausible.
You can sort of see the chips in this picture

So anyway, I looked into getting a new bumper, but found out that it would be $700-900 after paint for a quality bumper.
So I took it to my local dealership to get a quote to fix it.
$400
It was a little more than I expected, but I was afraid to take it to a local body shop because I didn't want the paint to be off.
So I go to pick up my car from the dealership the next day, inspect the bumper etc.
Everything looks good, paint matches, no orange peel, the crack is gone...
So I pay for the service and drive home (cloudy day)
When I got into the car I could smell (very strongly) paint.
I figured it was nothing
A few days later it was sunny out and I was leaving my house driving down my driveway when I noticed there was overspray on my windows
I get out of the car and feel the paint, and of course there is overspray on the paint too.
In the engine bay...of course the entire engine bay would be covered in metallic silver overspray...
So I take it back to the dealership for them to fix it.
They clean the windows with window cleaner thinking that that would do something.
The sun wasn't shining so I couldn't see if it was gone or not.
Next day it's sunny and when the sun hits the windows, of course the overspray is still on all of the windows.
So I take it back there for the 3rd time (including original service)
They take it into the garage and call me out to point out the overspray to them (because it was in the garage and couldn't see it with no [sun]light on it).
I couldn't point it out, but I assured them that it was there.
20 minutes later they tell me it's ready.
I go to pull out of the dealership and the sun hits the windshield, illuminating the overspray that was still there.
So, before I even leave the parking lot I turn back and take it back to them (4th time).
They schedule an appointment for a clay bar service to try and get it all off.
At this point I was getting pissed.
I told them "this is why you remove the bumper from the car when you paint it. It isn't difficult, it's a few clips and a couple bolts."
Then they tell me "yeah that painter is lazy"
Oh well thanks for putting a lazy painter to work on my car

I come back a few days later to get the car clayed and windows razored.
I told them that if this didn't work that they'd be buying me some new windows.
It took them about an hour to finish up.
This time it was sunny, and I made it a point to have the guy who worked on it come out into the sun with me to make sure that it's all gone (this guy was actually nice, but that's besides the point).
It was finally gone after 5 trips back to the dealership.
A few weeks go by, and
The lip develops a hairline crack where the old one was.
I called up the dealership and told them about it.
They told me that they couldn't do anything about it, so I demanded to talk to the manager.
After being transferred around 100 times I finally got to the manager.
He was apologetic and everything, and set up an appointment for me to come in the next week.
So I wake up bright and early to take my car in, but before I left, for some reason I call to make sure that I have a loaner car like I did the last 3 times I was there for long services.
They tell me that I don't and that they don't have any cars for me that day.
I became furious and said "how do you expect me to go to school across the river without a loaner car?" (I'm a college student btw)
I don't remember what they said, but they told me they couldn't get me a loaner.

I said, "so there's nothing you can do? This is going to be the 6th time I'm taking my car back to you guys to fix YOUR mistakes, and you expect me to wait in the waiting room while you fix and repaint my bumper? Because that shouldn't take more than 20 minutes right?"
They said they they couldn't do anything and wanted to know if I was still bringing in the car.
I just hung up the phone, but as I was pressing end call I said, "f*cking idiots."
Later in the day I got a call from the guy I had been dealing with most of the time (although he did go on vacation for a while, so I did deal with another guy).
He said "I understand you were muttering comments about my colleague earlier today."
I said, "yes, you guys are absolutely useless"
He said, "well we're just going to refund your original cost of the repair and you can go get it fixed somewhere else."
"thank f*ck for that."
So, in the end I got my $400 back, but it took 5 trips to the dealership that was 35 minutes away from me (1hr 10m round trip) to get it done.
I just bought an aerosync bumper about 9 months after that fiasco, and I'm getting painted at a "local" body shop that has an excellent reputation on September 5.
Like I said, it was a long story
