1 year anniversary with my Z
About a year ago me and my girlfriend were cruising around Miami looking for just about anything with a manual in it. (very hard to find down there) We walked on a Toyota dealership thinking about a Tc (I've owned an xB and loved it GF hates Scions) After being unimpressed and not wanting to buy anything the sales person drags me over to a darker silver 2006 350z base. It looked clean, nice lines It was cute. But previous impressions of Z cars and Nissan's in general left me going "meh" Then I got in it. Quick! Not so much off the line, Being a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 owner with a few mods, the dragging potential was a bit lacking for something quoting 300+ HP. But 1/4 mile times or not this car felt quick, handling turns at speeds that I would never try in my 'stang. The salesmen almost crying in tears at this point from almost reckless driving around back-roads behind the dealership asked me how I liked it. I loved it. It felt like all the handling and more of my friends '85 MR2 but with a majority of the power of my 'stang.
The styling has grown on me, and I don't think I will ever want to part with my Z. All the things old Car and driver mags were saying they hated I loved. I can feel the car hug the road, the interior doesn't distract you from the goal of the car, Driving. Loud engine they say, I love the sound. I'm Hooked on 350s. Now I have owned my Z for 366 days, and every day I get in my car I'm just as excited as the first day I bought it.
While this is my first post here, I have been lurking on this site since I got my car. I just wanted to say thanks for all the good info, and see you guys on the road!
