Default New Z

Bought this 2006 Touring 350z a couple weeks ago. I had done my research, and knew this was the only car I would even consider getting. (Replacing first car. Don't worry I was a good driver ) Despite my research, and my fair share of racing it around in video games (lol), I did not anticipate the power this thing has! It is great, but a straight line is the most I'll take on for now. I've seen some of the mischief the younger enthusiasts here have gotten into while.. being enthusiastic with their cars, but I am in love with this thing too much to risk anything..

Anyways, I'm new to this genre of car, and would appreciate any tips on not killing myself :-)

Plans for the car at the moment are to continue renovating to make it look brand new. On the outside it already does, but the infamous interior still needs work. When I decide to stop being in poverty I may decide to do something fancy with the engine, like turbochargers etc. As for the rest, I much prefer the stock look of this Z than any other I've seen, so I won't bother modifying cosmetics.

Looking forward to being a part of the community!

(Yeah it's gray.. lol)

i feel the same way. gotta really respect the car and the power it makes. i'm in love too with my car too... from first sight, actually.

i really like the way your car looks with the wheels and the reflectors. does it have tint? that's nice. hey i know what you can do, you can get some turn signal bulbs that take the "egg yolk" out of them by reflecting silver or rainbow colored, and they light up amber when illuminated.

i want to get these for my car too. I have not seen how the new LED lights look but they would achieve the same effect

edit: i'm digging the stubby antenna too

Thanks for the input! I believe they are tinted but I never confirmed that with the previous owner. As for the lights, I'm content with them as I haven't noticed the 'yolking', but if I ever do something for the lights it'll involve these:

i must say it looks striking. i would only support you if the aftermarket headlights have the same or more output than stock. i've had too much experience with low quality and decreased light output so it is hard to put my faith in them.

if you ever change your headlights, i might buy your stock ones to give my older Z a fresher look

Yeah let's replace those coveted 06 headlights that EVERYONE wants with those riced out eBay lights.

These lights actually use the bulbs from the lights you used previously so can't do that unless you want to buy new bulbs. It's just a new housing with LEDs (if it sounds like I have no idea what I'm talking about you're right)

So I would still have the lights everyone wants! Lol

Am in no hurry though, I've got no problem with any bit of the car.

my head is going to explode if i try to understand that. i'm exaggerating, but even if the same headlight "bulbs" are used light output can be decreased due to the reflector/projector design in the headlight housing, if that makes sense.

And that's where you are smarter than I.

In that case then, I'll keep my coveted lights haha

I'm new here myself. Welcome to the Z family. I've been looking for a Z for many years. Finally found it. Love at first sight here too. Happy motoring!
