Default My 03 350z (Kind of Nismo...)

So I recently purchased a 350z from a guy my dad knew, and the car was owned by his brother in Texas. When the guy bought it, he told Nissan to put literally just put all the nismo parts on it, but keep the body kit regular. So I absolutely love the car, and I'm a big fan of modding cars, but not really a fan of the whole stance/fitment thing, which is big among z's. The only thing that's wrong with the car, is that there is sap or something like that that the guy waxed over, and now it's stuck in the hood. I've tried everything possible to get them out, but nothing has worked. So I'm gonna get the hood and front bumper resprayed, which won't cost a lot and will look good because my dad is really good friends with one of the best guys around here. Since the car is black, I decided I would plasti dip the rims and see how they look, the window tint is like 30% I think. So yesterday I plasti dipped the rims and my door handles and this is how they turned out and I think I might tint my headlights next weekend, but I'm skeptical about the taillights because if you get rear ended and they're tinted then it's your fault... So what do you guys think?

Welcome! I know Mahmmoud (guy you bought it from). Pretty cool guy.. Good amount of stuff done to this Z if i remember correctly.

If you ever want to trade the 3.9 rear end for my stock 3.5 rear end plus cash let me know!

Great start! Plastidip and tinted tails always make the car. Don't forget the 10000K headlights, too, and an eBay rep exhaust.

Damn you guys are really quick to judge here. I'm sorry that I can't buy a new set of $500 rims since I'm going into med school next year, so plasti dip was the cheap and temporary alternative. Here's pics of some of the nismo parts since you guys want to see them. And yes I am still finishing up the plasti dip because you can see the silver on the rim right there

Don't take it personally. People on this forum have a huge grudge against plasti dip. As you said it's temporary and that is the nice thing about it is you can peel the stuff off. Personally I don't think it looks any better then just leaving them as is though... It's a matter of opinion.

Kind of ironic though to see the high end brembo brakes hiding behind plasti-dipped rims

You could probably sell that as a nismo, nobody would notice.

Aside from the plasti-dip issue, there is some sort of issue with your engine, although I can diagnose it remotely. The inside of that exhaust tip is covered with lots of black deposits, which really shouldn't be there. Is the engine throwing any codes? Did some previous genius pull the thermostat or do something else to screw with the mixture control? Or, does the engine burn lots of oil? I haven't cleaned the inside of my S-Tune exhaust tips in ~3 years, and they're still clean and shiny, as they should be.

BTW, you can't do much better than those "V1 Track" wheels without spending lots of money on aftermarket wheels, so be happy with them. They're strong, very light, and safe.

You ask for it
Just have fun with your project but think twice about posting pix, unless you can take the heat.

I'm in agreement with dcains, your motor is running pretty rich. I clean the inside of my tips about once a year and they are nowhere near as sooty as yours.
Enough already with the Plastidip and lense tinting, you do need some contrast, although that is only my opinion.

Here's a pic of my exhaust. It needs a good polishing, but I haven't cleaned the inside in at least a few years. My car is an '08 with 54K miles, and the exhaust has ~35K on it:

Yeah man, the engine is throwing some codes, so I'll have it looked at this weekend
