Hopefully New Owner?
So, I've been searching for 350z's for a while now, and I've come across one that I almost 100% like. I was just wanting to get your guys' opinions on it, because it'll be about a 3 hour drive one-way to see the car.
2004 Nissan 350z Performance - $15,985
The link above is to the cars.com ad.
It's an '04 Performance model with 87,000 miles. Comes with a clean title and CarFax. It obviously has quite a few mods already installed. Some of them I'm not a fan of, but those can always be changed. I was wondering if the price is too high, and if so, what should I try to get it down to?
Any help is appreciated. And thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post.

The dealer wants about $6,000 more than that car is worth and they probably won't budge on the price because they're waiting for some 17 year old punk to come along and fall in love with his Fast and Furious dream riceboat and pay the price.
Please, stay far away from that thing.

That car could not be any more tacky or overpriced.

Seems to be the unanimous decision.
Thanks for the quick replies, and straight-forward responses.
If you guys don't mind, what about these two:
2004 Nissan 350z Touring - $14,272
or
2003 Nissan 350z Track - $12,785
The 04 has 65k miles, and in the end is probably the one to go for. I'm just getting a little tired of the black on black.
The 03 67k miles, and the dealership only has one review. That's all I was able to find when searching for them. Besides that one review on cars.com, there are no other ones that I could find. But, the orange/silver interior is starting to grow on me.
Both have a clean CarFax and title as well.
Once again, any opinions and feedback are greatly appreciated. And thank you guys once again for taking the time to read this thread.

'03 - That is not a track model - they came with Brembos and I highly doubt somebody downgraded.
It looks like a Touring to me (not sure if you care about Brembos, but it is a way to talk the price down).
Also, the interior plastic was the same color for every car.

'04 - looks good - not a fan of the rear end though.

I didn't think the 03 was a track model. I wasn't sure which one it was, though. A touring works just fine for me. And if I could get the price down for that, that'd be excellent.
When it came to the colors, I meant the seats. The orange seats are starting to grow on me for whatever reason. And I've just had too many black cars with full black interiors. But if the 04 is the better car, I'll pick it up and switch out the seats in time.
Also, I just wanted to thank you guys for giving me straight-forward answers, where you can bash the car but you don't bash or belittle me. Too many forums, and too many car owners do that. Which has those cars on a ban list for me now because I want to be involved in the community for my next car.
I'm not a fan of the rear of the 04, either. But that can be changed. And that's a small change.

There were few differences between the '03 and '04 - main thing to check is they don't still have the recalled transmission.

I would honestly prefer to buy a stock car. It was the paint job/decals that got me interested. Not the mods.

That '04 doesn't look bad but is definitely not worth the price they're asking, and I'm not personally a big fan of those wheels on the car. The '03 is a pretty decent deal though at a fair price especially from a dealer. It's definitely not a track model though, it's a touring. Use that to your advantage and you can probably talk them down to 10 or 11 grand depending on how good your negotiating skills are.
And #1 rule of car buying: be patient, and don't buy the first thing that you can afford that you're okay with because you'll regret it. Spend a long time shopping around and eventually you will stumble upon a killer deal that is everything you want; color, trim, everything.
Daytona Blue isn't a terribly hard color to find, and those decals honestly IMO look EXTREMELY tacky and tasteless, especially the eBay "Nismo" decals that are plastered all over the car. You're much better off to stick to something completely clean aesthetically for the most part.

So, try for 10 with the '03.
And, if I bought the first thing I could have afforded, I would have ended up with a car whose community weren't exactly the most open to newcomers (trying to avoid the model so as to not directly bash them).
$10K for the '03 is a good place to start. Look up the price to add Brembos, present it to the dealer and ask them to remove the difference. They won't cover the full difference, so you'll probably end up around $10-12K
Admittedly, I've already been through my Fast n Furious stage. The only thing that drew me towards that car was the paint job/decals. Hence my statement about not liking most of the mods. I was hoping to lower the price, and then Get rid of those mods that I didn't like. But if I can't lower it, then I'd have to agree about going nowhere near it.

Its very common for dealers to sell Z's with the wrong model info.
Odd that no engine/exhaust etc mods are listed.
Hate the tail lites on the 04 and other add ons.
The 03 is not a Track.lnterior looks redone...seat covers, vinyl 3-M wrap/faux carbon fiber.I do like the burnt orange seats(I'm partial as thats what I have).

Is there a place on the forums, or elsewhere, where the European spec interiors are for sale? Because I've fallen in love with the steering wheel and shift **** from them.
