EBRAKE method!!!^^^ Works better with FWD vehicles IMO though.
OP, Pull the ebrake up and hold the button in to hold you from rolling on a hill, then go about your foot business as usual and make sure to let the ebrake go when you get moving!
When I first bought the Z I lived in a house that had about a 60* incline driveway off a 45* hill. I don't know how many mornings I rolled backwards down the hill to where it was flat and started off from there

I've been driving to work every day with my Z, and guess what I come across on the way? Yeah, a hill... Although I'm not as fortunate as you. That hill is BUSY, lots of traffic. Traffic eager to get to work on time, so they don't leave much room for me to roll back. So far what I've done is (desperate measures, don't laugh) pull aside to park at the bottom of the hill, and rip it up when it's a green light (yes, there's a stop light on top of the hill and yes, it's always red).

I see you sitting at the bottom of the hill, revving like the beginning of a Fast and Furious race and once the light turns green the camera shoots through the engine and out the exhaust with tire smoke (possibly clutch smoke in your case :P ) and getting to the top of the hill and the light turns yellow but you just hit the NOS and jump through traffic.

Daily.

If you ever make a movie out of my struggles with manual, I demand a 8% cut, and a feature for my car in F&F 8

If I learned to drive a manual transmission in San Francisco, YOU can do it.

Glad you mentioned that! E-Brake method works wonders for new MT drivers on hills.. Definitely helped me a lot.

It's hilarious how I used to rely on that method whether it was a 4* incline or a 40*. Now I just get on the quick enough I barely roll, and I'm no pro driver either....

I'm running into my own "issues" now after winter. I took my Z out and got on it a couple times 1st-3rd and I noticed I was waiting on the revs to drop like I have to in my slow azz Mazda 3 The third time I caught myself before doing it and was like:

HAHA.. Yeah I've gotten to the point to where I can move my foot fast enough from the brake to the accelerator so I barely roll back (or not at all).. If I remember correctly, my mini cooper s took awhile for the RPMs to drop too lol

On a side note, really hope they don't can Clarkson..

I haven't been able to watch top gear (or TV at all) for a while. We have no cable or anything, just Amazon through my PS3. I faintly know what's going on with Jezza. ....

Bout to do some reading..... if all else fails, at least we still have the American one with Tanner Foust. .........

just kidding, that garbage is garbage

^^ Hi and welcome to the forum. Daytona blue is a great color for the 350z. I also have a 2003 350z (in Redline). It’s amazing how well the paint holds up on these cars.

Don’t be concerned about learning to drive a MT. It will be second nature for you in another week or two. You won’t even think about it after 30 days or so.
