Yeah I would agree with all of you until I saw this car lol. There are no rock chips, the drivers seat is perfect except some very light marks where your clothes rub when getting in. How I would love to explain the miles is it was pulled behind a RV. But so far no problems except the gas gauge, we filled it up, and after maybe 150 miles it says its just above half full. I have not smelled any gas or seen any puddles. Thoughts about that?

Wait, the car was pulled behind an RV? Does that make the miles go up with the car off? I have no idea, but that could be an amazing twist on the original story.

All I know is when I trailered my Z behind our UHaul it looked like I went offroading in it. Hardly mint with 62k miles on the clock here.

miles shouldn't be adding up on the odometer, as long as they key isn't on.

I'd wonder if it had to be "on" and in neutral (automatic)

I wouldn't know, I haven't owned an automatic in 6 years. (and I've never towed one)

from what i read it will only register if the ignition is on, now the older analog ones would go up being towed

Something sounds fishy with the "towed behind RV" line the OP was given.
