New 03 owner with 207k miles!
Hey guys, first post here, just bought a 03 350z with 207k miles for 6500$. Your next thought might be you're an idiot, but i'v been wanting one of these for a while now, and the car is literally 10/10. The interior has 0 flaws, exterior has 1 scratch, that's literally it. So I was fine over paying a little bit because it was exactly what I wanted, and honestly the best z I have personally seen. It runs amazingly, but I can't ignore the odometer, what do you guys think is going to be my first problem?

Shocks and strust. Various pumps, gaskets and sensors, fluids, filters, houses. At that mileage you shouldve pass. Gonna cost more to restore than to have just bought a lower mileage one.
*assuming no maintainance has been done*

but it is hard to spend money when you barely make any. let me guess, you are under 20 and barely working part time, and i am sure there is something i am missing. you get what you pay for and what you bought will prob crap out on you or cost a lot in repairs in the near future

I bought mine with 99k miles and found several problems
Passenger side window motor went out
Trunk struts needed to be replaced damn trunk fell on my head a lot
That was about it
In the past 3 years I put 25k miles on it lol hardly saw any real maintenance problems.
If you drive the z a lot and I mean a lot like daily commute to work 30 plus miles a day you will find the maintenance cost go up like crazy but if you drive it once in awhile the cost is close to nothing
I put like 15k miles 6 months ago in California because I was driving a whole lot because everything was far away
I would have never bought a Z at 200k miles clearly because the motor is guaranteed to last up to 200k lol I would start saving for a new vq engine and transmission but then again people are right the cost to repair will outweigh the cost of the car
I had to replace a lot of stuff like brake pads brake rotors tires oil change regular maintenance stuff nothing major though

that many miles and the car is mint? No way is that seat mint. No way is the front end mint with just one scratch. has to be many many many rock chips in the front end... post some high resolution pics. 10/10 is impossible unless there is a brand new paint job. I don't mean to be doubtful, but lets be realistic.

lol @ mint 207k mile car.
It's not mint. If it looks like it, you got taken.

I got my brickyard 2003 touring for $5000 last month.
Has 140k miles and original owner with a binder full of every repair and original window sticker.
Granted, if its an original 10/10 car, then you can get a tranny and engine for $2000 and have a perfect car, but then you have $8500 in a un-modded car, but hope you love it man.

Welcome to the forum, i hope you do have a pile of receipts as that will give you some idea as to how many $$$$'s you're going to be forking out in the near future. Best of luck with it. The VQ33 was designed to cover 200,000 miles with regular maintenance so if yours has been well looked after it'll just be the ancillaries you'll be spending cash on.

$6,500 is a little much for a 12 year old Z with 200K+ miles. A lot can depend on where the car was stationed & driven and if it went through any salt or harsh winters.
I'd start off flushing all the fluids, replacing hoses and belts, and then moving on to the suspension and bushings.. If the car was treated well and babied, i'd bet that engine can last to 300K miles. Not sure on the trans tho.
