A few are mustang owners, a few own z's, and a few have camaros.. I just see on YouTube and instagram these pretty well know known z owners who still have under 300hp cars that can hang with the random street antagonists who come up ready to do 40, 50, and 60 rolls. Just wondering how exactly they do that..

People NEVER challenge me.
One of two reasons:
"He's just an old guy living out his mid-life fantasies, why bother?"
Or, more likely the following convo taking place....
"Oh shid, don't do it man! That's that dude!"
"What dude?"
"You know, that Mic guy! BRRRRRR..... stand down man, stannnnnd down!"
No, I'm not laffing, why for you axkin'?

It's because those Z owners are better drivers.

When I prepped my Z for STU, high flow cats, exhaust and drop in filter, plus tune added only 13HP.
A good diff will help you dig out of turns much faster than an open diff or worn-out VLSD. If you don't have a good LSD and you are competing in any format that requires use of the sterring wheel, a good LSD is probably the best place to start. (More power won't help if you can't get the power you have now to the ground anyway)

All moot points since your Z-WTB ad shows you're actively seeking a Z34.
I should note that the only ones even remotely "close" to your $10k price range are a couple at $12k and $14k - at least around here. One was hit/bags deployed and has a primered front end; the other, a salvage.
But good luck in your search!
Given that, I'd say stick with your 33 until you can ante up the entry fee for 34. And, along with a new LSD, should you choose to do so, and all you're interested in is getting and staying ahead of your buddies, lower the rear gear. A 3.7, 3.9, 4.1 will really wake that puppy up. (But you'll have to live with the downsides, of course.)
