Replacing engine, what else should I do?
I have a 05 base model, non rev up or HR. The engine started clanking on bottom end so... replacement was the only fix.
I got a used JDM engine with 65k miles and the swap will begin later this week.
What performance or simply "wise" upgrades I should do at the same time that the engine will be out of the car?
My budget is an extra $700-$1000 on top of the cost for the replacement, which includes all hoses, gaskets, spark plugs.
Suggestions??

Nothing will make any sort of performance difference, at least when talking about engine bolt-ons. Intake and/or exhaust will make it sound different/better, but that's all. If you have an extra $1K, I might get some new shocks and adjustable sway bars, and save the rest for new tires at some point.
Also would like to know this question will be replacing/rebuilding soon 170k on the engine and it consumes oil like no tomorrow...
Rear main seal? timing cover and oil gallery gaskets? hoses? anything else besides that?
