Finally getting another Z. Clutch advice please?
hello! I'm looking at an 09 350z with 47,000 miles for $12,500 it belongs to a friend of my cousin, she bought it new and "isn't looking to sell it but would...." type of deal. It looks clean but she hit fence and it needs a new hood maybe a mirror or at least some paint maybe, nothing major tho.
The question I have is with the clutch / transmission it makes a slight grind into second gear and I wasn't even shifting hard maybe 4500 rpm and the clutch feels soft and the miles are ridiculously low to have an issue. I checked the fluid it looked full.
I've tried to search and find any kind of early clutch problems as a common issue but I thought I would ask. I had a 79 280z with a t5 it was my first or second clutch as a teenager so I'm not afraid of a clutch swap but I'm just wondering if it's unheard of to get a grind at under 50k?
I'm used to a heavy clutch too are they kinda soft from the factory on newer ones? is a pedal adjustment the only adjustment beyond bleeding it? Probably worth it even if I needed a transmission.
I'm rambling.
Thanks for any help.

A "friend of a cousin" sale, eh? The first thing you should ask is how well does she drive? Or was this the first clutch they've ever used? If so, they probably burned up the clutch disc and possibly damaged the flywheel. And before you decide the tranny itself is toast, try changing over to Redline MT85 and see if that cures the grind.
