Default 03 base model

I recently found a manual 2003 base model after looking for a new (to me) car for the past few months. My wife and I needed something for me to drive to work so I could leave our main vehicle at home with her and our kid, and vice versa. She intelligently stipulated that it needed to be in good condition and not too expensive, and my compromise was that I needed it to be standard drive so it could be something that I would at least kind of enjoy driving.

I looked around for a while and had found, and almost completely settled, on a 2001 civic in fine condition, medium mileage for the age, and as boring as ever. I kept looking around with hopes of seeing something I wanted more, and just before I contacted the civic owner, my refreshed search brought up a beautiful looking 2003 chrome silver 350z. it had slightly higher miles (155k) than id normally look for, but seemed to be in great condition and was a very fair price. I have always wanted one ever since they came out sometime in my sophomore year of high school.

I contacted the gentleman minutes after he posted it for sale, and asked if we could meet that evening.

When he pulled up I was immediately sold on the car and barring any major mechanical issues, I already knew I wanted it. He got out of the car with an entire folder of rigorously documented maintenance records, and receipts to go along with them. He even had a small notebook where he kept personal records of every oil change or other small routine job, with mileage, type of product used, and dates and times. This was a huge green flag for me and after talking with the guy for a bit, we hopped in for a test drive.

Needless to say it went swimmingly, and I made him a cash offer right then and there. After a very small amount of negotiating I dropped him off at his house, grabbed a few small things he didn't bring with the car, and drove it home within hours of him posting it for sale. It isn't immaculate, but its more than close enough for me.

I apologize for the long first post, but I love this car, and I'm excited to be part of what seems like a fun community. Thank you.
