Just got the car this week, '05 touring 58k miles. I'm here to get more familiar with the car, get new ideas and read real world reviews on products.
I had a '01 BMW Z3 3.0 roadster, was in perfect condition with many mods. Gave it to my brother when he needed a car, he totalled it within a month. Sadness. I missed having a convertible & finally decided on my 350z.
I'm thinking of many small things to make it mine, more me:

I'm thinking of many small things to make it mine, more me:
- Custom seat covers (coming soon) -- seats are burnt orange, didn't sun fade nicely at all, but in good condition.
- Pioneer head unit, soon to add backup camera
- New car mats
- Considering Remin dash kit-- many scuff marks and scratches near shifter and drivers door
- Black rims (just started looking & thinking of what I want)

Welcome to Z ownership!
The scratches you mentioned are quite common. Unfortunately, that is one place Nissan cut corners. There are many options available. You can either repaint, wrap, replace with CF, or just leave it be.
The forums are full of plenty of great information. Search through them if you have anything you'd like to know.
Enjoy your Z!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm bit afraid to all questions, that is for sure. I don't always know what I'm doing, but I know what I want.
Yeah, interior seems soft and under the black is White/light Grey so scratches really stand out. Part of it I'm sure, especially with the for is that the handles are so low, drivers belt, keys, jean rivits...All hit and scratch.
I'm going to try painting them this weekend, if still unhappy then might just do a dash kit, trying to find real reviews on longevity of them tho, how well do they hold up type thing. I was able to nicely remove the worn coating on steering wheel, huge improvement.
Looking forward to some nice, long drives.

Welcome. I remember Tiff Needle reviewed the 350z against the Z4 and the Audi TT when it came out. The 350z was the fastest and most fun of the bunch. The other competitor (not in the video) was the Boxster. The 350z is also faster around the track than the Boxster (even the S model) once equipped with Brembos.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
